I hope someone has brought back recent Navigators for Dave and Tony & Barb to put on their sites.

Has DCL really changed Tropicali night to allow shorts in the restaurants for dinner? Someone mentioned that this has happened on the Mexicali night, on the Western.

This would make packing a little easier for DH and DS. I will probably still wear a tropical sundress though.

Take a look at Dave from Mariettas site at the Western Mexican night Navigator that Dave just updated. It has changed from "NO shorts or jeans" (A navigator from March) to "No jeans" (A navigator from April). How would you interpret this? I'm wearing shorts. - Mike

OK - Now I have a dilemma - At the top of the Navigator it says "NO jeans", but then at the dining portion of the Navigator under Dinner it says "No shorts or jeans" Can anybody help here??? Are shorts OK to wear to the "Mexican" night dinner???? - I certainly do not want to under-dress. Back to khaki pants for me unless someone can clarify. Mike

We were on the Eastern in March and on Tropicalifragilisticexpealidocious Night lot of folks wearing shorts, myself included. We asked and were told it was NOT a problem.

Cheers,
Grumbo

On our Eastern cruise, June 2002, and our Western cruise, June 2003, many people were wearing shorts. Some of our party included. I think the whole "no jeans, no shorts" rule applies to the regular night dining schedules. The tropical night, I think, is an exception to the rule. I say wear the shorts and don't worry about it. You won't feel out of place at all. ;)

On our 2/7/04 there were many wearing shorts on Tropicali night....our servers told us the night before that shorts were fine for that night, but not the other nights in the dining room.

The tropicali night is very festive!!!

Considering that many men did not wear a suit jacket NOR a shirt with tie at Palo for brunch, dinner or High Tea - I find that the dress code is both not enforced nor an issue at any restaurant. And by the way, the couple from the WDW Suite wore cutoffs AND tank tops at Palo and no one said a word to them..........

Rae, you knew what room they were in???

Insider information!!!

Yes, and I also know where they got their money from - old money, the kind that just doesn't require much to do for it except be born into the right family.........

Considering that when I was a kid, I got one Christmas gift and usually that was an item of clothing.....well, you know I get my "cheap roots" honestly!!!!!!!

You know the old saying " Just because you have money, doesn't mean you have class"!! I see it all the time!!!

Listen, the old adage is right. Wear what you feel comfortable with. On the tropical night, the DH wore shirts and a tropical shirt, like lots of guys. He wore a suit on the formal night, a suit with no tie on the semi-formal, the other nights, dockers and a golf shirt, and the last night, we said to heck with it, no more dressing up. He wore a tank top and shorts, and I wore capris and a tank top, and the DD wore shorts and a tee shirt. We were not the only ones dressed that way. Enjoy yourself. Its nice to get dressed up, but when you're tired of it, WEAR WHAT YOU WANT!
