My daughter and I were at Disneyland for a couple of days over the Christmas holiday

12/26 - had lunch at Cafe Orleans - we couldn't make a reservation for the Blue Bayou, this was our first visit here, and Mary Jo and Kelly have eaten here before (waving to MJ and Kelly) - we all had the Monte Cristo's with french onion soup and we all shared 2 desserts - yum yum

for dinner, Kara and i grabbed burgers, fries and a drink - the burgers were good size and good

01/02 - Kara and I had lunch at the Riverbelle Terrace - we both had their prime rib sandwichs and they were huge - our sides were fresh fruit - which we saved and ate later as a snack and for dessert, I had the chocolate cake and Kara the strawberry shortcake

For dinner we ate Plaza Inn - Kara had their penne pasta and she couldn't finish it, I had the fried chicken - the chicken tasted like it had been dunked in a salt lick - it was so salty I couldn't eat much - the green beans and mashed potatoes were good though.

For snacks Kara had a corn dog and gasp - I only had 2 mickey bars over the 2 days

01/05 - We took my uncle and mom to the Storyteller's Cafe at the Grand Californian for dinner, for my uncle's birthday - we all did the dinner buffet, it was my uncle, mom, and Kara's first visit here - we all enjoyed every bite - from the prime rib to the desserts - I had gotten my uncle an It's My Birthday button and he proudly wore it all night. For his birthday, a cupcake with a candle was brought out and several of the servers sang happy birthday to him to the tune of Zippity Doo Da - my uncle was impressesd with the restaurant, the food, and the resort itself

Hi Marla

Thanks for the reveiws! Since Kelly & I were there w/you at Cafe Orleans I'll just add that that was the first time we had eaten there, so it was a new experience for us, too. :)

I'd say that the Monte Cristos are good, but rich -- I think the next time I'll split one and a salad with someone else.

Hey Mary Jo - oops - I thought you had eaten there before

It was good

a new local place opened up while we were gone and they have Monte Cristo's on their menu - haven't tried one yet

Glad to hear that the buffet at Storyteller's was as enjoyable as ever, Marla. We had it twice on our trip a year ago and were our favourite meals.

I have it booked for our arrival day, which is also my birthday. Not sure I want everyone to know it, but if I change my mind can you get the birthday buttons at the World of Disney Store? I won't be going into the park that day. (I was contemplating picking one up at City Hall when I go the next day.)

Hi,

I think the Cafe Orleans is our favorite place to eat. We love the Monte Cristos, the beignets and our new favorite their Pommes Frites. The last time we went, we split the Monte Cristo and it was plenty!!

I think you can get the b-day button at Storytellers. We got DD8's at Ariel's Grotto when we were there for breakfast.

Thank You for the reviews. The Monte Cristo is one of my absolute faves too!

Cafe Orleans is our favorite, too. DD & I split the Monte Cristo (or seafood sandwich), share the fries and share dessert. Everything there is delicious!

Thanks for the reviews Marla.:)
