First let me echo the notes about most of the counselors being really great about wanting to know if you would be some place that was not easily left...... Palo, islands, spa, etc.... They asked us almost every time and when we told them they ALWAYS made a written note of it!! They were very caring of my children and US!!!
On the final night we even had a counselor come to our rescue as we were trying to explain to our daughter that she 'REALLY NEEDED TO STAY AND PLAY' because Mom and Dad had to go pack........ But after a long day of ocean and a club show she was not being her usual cooperative 4-yr-old self!!
The counselor came and swept her away to some joyous experience!! When we returned an hour later........ she wanted nothing to do with us-- "I am playing with my friends.... BYE!!" Thank you SUPER COUNSELOR!!!!
NOW............
Let me say we did run into a handfull of very surly attitudes on this trip. Something we had not really ever noticed from the counselors on previous trips.... Don't get me wrong..... nothing that would make me write down someone's name with revenge in mind....... But not the usual 'Delightful Disney Demeanor' you get from the large majority of the ships crew......
We had a child in the 3-4 club and one in the 10-12 lab, and the 'Less Than Disney' attitude was present in both places and only with certian staff........ Because it was not a big problem for us we chose to ignore it... &/or chalk it up to a bad day/trip. My long sought point here is that depending on WHO your child is being a bit fussy for may well depend on how it is handled. Not fair..... but real life rears it's ugly head!! I think that a phone call, as Rae did, would be my first line of defence for a call out of a $100 facial or even brunch!!
The one real concern we did have was the paging system used for the kids who were signing in/out of the lab....... Many times we would get our page that DD was leaving/returning to the lab late or not at all.... Upon checking with the counselors we were assured that DD did request the page, but in the process of using the radios back and forth between the clubs there were sometimes lapses.... Never a real problem for us as our DDs checkouts were always decided upon ahead of time...... But just a FYI for any of you who are planning on giving the sing out privileges to your kids.....
Now hopefully I have posted in such a way that there will be no need for debate or directed rebuttle................
