Recent Cruisers-Best servers on Magic?

Glad to hear they are still on the Magic - what a darling couple they are!!! If she isn't the most beautiful woman on that ship, then eyes are lying!! She is breathtaking - and has the personality to go with it.

Hi Rae! We had Zoran when we cruised in 11/2003 and when we went to our first dinner is Parrot cay saw him right away and said hello. He gave my wife a big hug. We were sorry we didn't have him again, but that disappointment went away real quick when we found out we had his wife Andrea. And they work right next to each other. Andrea is working with Sandor now, also from Hungary and they are both great.

:wave:Sandy,

Are you another one of those time travelers??? You had Zoran when you cruised in 11/2003, if I'm not mistaken, isn't that four months from now. Maybe you have been out in the Caribbean sun to long during your current cruise!!!

Just busting on ya!!! LOL!!!

Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!!

Just got off the Magic 6-21 to 6-28 and Liam from Jamaica was fantastic. After his presentation of the entre selections I couldn't decide whether to eat it or make love to it. When our daughter became ill after a late afternoon at Carlos and Charlies, she had to leave the table and I escorted her back to the cabin to put her to bed. When I returned to the table he had written a get well card for her and bought her a Dory plush doll. I can't say enough about him both as a server and a person. Gede was the assistant server and he was very attentive although I had some problems understanding him. Wes (for Debbie)

I envy you all for the service that you received. Our head server came by once (he wanted to make sure we knew his name.....honestly that was our conversation we never saw him again until the last night when he was going around and collecting his "envelopes").

Our server was o.k., but pretty "boring" compared to what was going on around the dining room. It was the assistant server who was awesome! Her name was Edit (Hungarian). She was very charming and particularly good with the kids. She could get DD4 to quit crying when she was upset! I don't think the server acknowledged our kids once........he would always ask me what they wanted, and our kids are quite open with people.

It was because of the "average" service that we often chose other dinner plans. Maybe part of my problem was that I had heard so much about the servers and their "entertainment" that I had myself too hyped up. I am not saying that the service was bad by any means, but I could have gotten that kind of service at a "typical" restaurant.

Sorry to be the downer! Hopefully you won't have the same experience.

I have gone on two disney cruises - the first was the Eastern Magic in 1/02. We never saw the head server until the end when we got to meet him so he could get his envelope. But the server was Adrian from Romania. He was absolutely excellant. Great personality and made us laugh. He was always on hang and even had special desserts every night for my sister in law who is diabetic. Sometimes her desserts looked better than ours. The asst server(Jenna) was just alright. We always seemed to have to ask her for things.

On our second cruise(9/02) on the Wonder, we didnt even know the head server and had very little regard for the server or the asst server. Neither one had any personality but perhaps because neither one really spoke english very well. We will be going again in 10/03 and cant wait to see.....

Rishi and Sandor were wondreful! My DS loved them, they really went the extra mile for us every night. And Christophe, the head server, was great too! :D

Phislie was our head waiter from Romania, he loved calling my sister britney spears (real name is Brittany). Jean from Macedonia, kept on doing jokes with me.. Such as having a light in his hand which was red and you couldnt see it. He'd ask me each night if i missed him, i'd say no. Then on the third night i made him a note that i missed him and i started making cards. Me and my sister LOVE chocolate milk so each night he'd prepare some so when we walk in he'd have it ready. He told me to just say, "MOO" whenever we needed a refill. We had many jokes. Starting tues. he started hugging each time i left. On the last night he prepared a birthday cake and everything! Jeff was our head server from Kenya. He was great too. The best part was them preparing a "macedonian mouse" out of the napkins. One would pet it then it'd shoot out like 10 feet. I dont know how they did that but they didnt throw it. At the end they we're great!

lctinkerbell - NOW it's stories like that THAT really do make dreams come true!!!! They sound like a lot of fun and isn't that what makes for great memories!!!!

Ok, we will be on the Magic in November for Thanksgiving week. I have heard the raves about the servers but I need to know which ones are the best with young kids. I have 2 toddler daughters and a teenage daughter. My little ones are very difficult when we go out to eat, frequent runs to the potty, fighting, not eating, normal stuff. They also have a fear of men. We were on the Wonder in April and Dale & Lisa were wonderful and they kept my kids happy and complain and potty free thru all the meals, even when the youngest was on serious sensory overload. I am so afraid that I will be dissapointed if our servers are not as kid friendly as Dale & Lisa. My kids loved Dale by the end and like I said normally hate men. I assume Phislie and Jean would be great with kids. Anyone else got any kid specific servers the recommend?

My mother and step father are also cruising with us(their first) and kinda skeptical and my mother is picky. I don't want to get an average serving team because I want them to get all the magic(they are huge Disney fans, just not cruise fans yet). They are very outgoing and sometimes scare normal shy servers, so we need to take that into account to. They need to put up with the parents humor!

I know that Giorgio Celestre (Brazil) is a professional magician and is excellent at keeping children (and adults) entertained. He has a great sense of humor and was a very attentive assistant server.

just got back from the 7/5 cruise and we had the best servers...Vasile from Romania and Gabor from Hungury. What ever dessert we didn't order they would bring in addition to our order. I think we had 6 lobster tail in addition to our order and they wre great with our kids ages 10-17. I only gained 8 pounds! Sometimes I would order two desserts. They are very good-entertaining and friendly and fun!

Sasha Sasic from Croatia and Edit (Hungarian or French - can't remember) were absolutely the BEST!!! Our 6 yr old granddaughter STILL talks about them and it has been 4 months since our cruise!! They couldn't have been more attentive or more entertaining. We absolutely LOVED them both.

We had Vicki from India and Daria from Croatia. They were both wonderful. We could not have asked for better service. We had a 1 yr old and a two year old with us and beleive me, they kept them very amused. They would come and pick them up after they were done eating or they would play with them so the parents could finish. One night our son had to take our youngest grandson out because he was really fussy and needed to settle him down, Vicki came and picked up his dinner and took it away. When he saw our son come back with the baby all calmed down, he brought him a brand new dinner pipping hot. Another night the youngest grandson needed to be held for a while during dinner and Vicki came over and cut everything up so our daughter-in-law could eat with one hand. They also brought us food we didn't order so we could try differant things. They were really wonderful and we would recommend them to anyone with small children or without.

And you only gained 8 lbs!!!! How did you ever manage!!!!!!!
Our server who is now gone (Roger C from Brazil) brought my 74 year old Mother every dessert on the menu EVERY night since she is a dessert fiend!!! Don't know how she manages to stay slender with that sweet tooth!!!!!!!

Glad you had such a wonderful time - it is those servers who truly make our vacations so special with their professional yet caring ways!!!

I remember the last time we were in the parks, and had a fantastic server in Italy in EPCOT. Amazing, even after quite a long time, what you remember most about a trip to Disney World is the wonderful waitstaff.

I hope we are as fortunate on our upcoming cruise to get as good a waiter! :p :p

We were on the wonder and had two guys that called themselves "tigger and Pooh" they were hilarious, polite, great with our son and made me feel like an heiress each time I came to dinner. I adored them. Since then we have had nothing remarkable, I won't mention the names since I would not want to hurt anyone's career but nothing like tigger and pooh.
Our stateroom host on the other hand was GREAT!

Someone had mantioned how Sanjeev from India was not that great...and I guess they have a reason for saying so...we never had such great a server as described in this thread...so for us he was excellent...Elena however, was awesome!!! Though she never did anything like tricks or anything she went beyond her duty to make sure we were happy!
