Recent Crowds

It's a funny thing because the tour groups are there in full force and the crowds are large, but the wait times aren't! Maybe DH & I are good at avoiding the groups..haha....but we aren't really paying attention to EMH or anything bc we don't get them!! Today was our 5th day there and the longest we waited in line was for 20 minutes for Buzz..(walked on BT, Space (2 times), walked on Splash etc..) Maybe it has to do with us arriving at 9am and getting to the popular rides??

This, along with Fast Pass, is probably the best single advice to avoid long lines. Fast Pass what you can but hit the attractions early that will line up later.

Hope all the "brazillions" will be gone by Aug. 22. thats in 29 days!:thumbsup2 Also, NO HURRICANES would be nice too!:scared: :thumbsup2

The Brazillian Tour Groups were EVERYWHERE from 7/8-7/16! An absolute pain in the mouse, they are!! Badly behaved and generally horrible representatives of their country (regardless of their age!)

Be careful. I really like this thread. I would had to see it close. :sad1:

Anyone just back?

I am not back but I am still here :) lol...we still have another 10 days of vacation (and we have been here for a week already!!) Anyways, the Brazillian Tour groups are EVERYWHERE!!!! (I nearly went and grabbed a flag to run...but I didn't...haha:rotfl2: ) Anyways, the crowds are still here, but the lines aren't...Like I said in a PP, we go for 9am and go straight to the popular rides and if the waits are short- we ride. We also grab fastpasses....overall I do not mind it in July! DH & I think we may go this time next year because we can go for a longer period of time :)

I read on Wikipedia that Brazil has a 3 week winter break from school in the month of July. So hopefully they will all be back in school by August.

An absolute pain in the mouse, they are!!

I've never encountered tour groups, but that line is hilarious! :rotfl2:

My theory on how there can be bigs crowds without huge lines is that summer crowds in general tend to be less "Disney educated." They are more likely to be the casual Disney traveler. The ones who go once or twice in a lifetime. The ones who show up to the park at 11 or noon, stand in the middle of Main Street staring at a park map trying to figure out where they should start. The ones who stand in the standby lines saying things like "No, honey, we can't use fastpass, we didn't pay for that."

Meanwhile, all us DISers can scoot right by them with our touring plans and fastpasses in hand and have a great day :goodvibes

We were over at Epcot last night and I'd say it was the first true good summer crowd we've seen - shoulder to shoulder.

Granted, it was EMH, but we've been over on lots of other EMH nights this summer and they weren't even close to this crowd.

Also notable - didn't see all that many Brazilian groups.

I totally agree. Plus the parks are open later, the night-time entertainment is shown more often, there are less rehabs, and everything is operating at full tilt. So really there are some benefits to going during the peak seasons. :goodvibes

Just got back today. I am a newbie so...I didn't know what to expect and expected the worst. However I NEVER felt crowded. NEVER.

One night at HS my kids walked on to ToT 3xs and RnRC 2xs. Yes you read that right.

We rode everything....The only attraction we noticed huge crazy lines was Soarin'....We were there at rope drop and one of the first to ride it and I grabbed a fast pass for later in the day. No problems.

It was amazing.
