Recent Crowds

We were at Epcot the same day too! I was so surprised that most of the rides at Epcot were walk on. Did you happen to see the Dream Team? they were in the Land and we saw them award the Castle to a family of 6! That is how I got the photo below with my son.

We heard about the family wining but never saw the Dream Team the entire trip. We did see several people with Dream Fast Passes but never the team itself.

I am happy to hear it isn't crazy busy!! We are there next week and would love to have cooler weather and low crowds!! Too much to ask for??? :confused3

Cooler weather -- yes, you're not going to get that ! :rotfl2: But crowds, you might be in luck. :thumbsup2

Went to DHS today...packed packed packed right from opening! We managed to get a Toy Story FP right after 9 (park opening) and it was for 11:30. The line was way out the door early on. Even Star Tours (which is usually walk on) had a 30 min. line and Rockin Roller Coaster was 70 or 75 mins. Thank goodness we won Dream Fastpasses; between that and the regular FPs we did quite a bit...otherwise, it would have been mostly waiting in lines. The tour guides were hogging the FP machines at 50 tickets a crack and messing up some of the FP return times by coming all at once.

DH & I have been doing disney for the past 4 days (18th-21st) and we waited no longer than 25 minutes in line. Most rides we just walked on or waited maybe, 10 minutes!

IcePrincess, did you do anything in particular on your park visits, like avoid parks with EMH which may have lead to the shorter lines? Did you park hop and avoid the park that appeared to be tour group heavy? Or are the tour groups beginning to slow down in numbers?

now that's what I wanted to hear! I'm heading down next week. Anything specific you did for this to happen?

We were there this past Saturday - Monday and it was pretty crowded. Saturday evening at Epcot wasn't too bad. EMH at MK on Sunday night was really crowded but we walked right on HM, Pirates, Buzz, etc. It was SM and TM that had crazy waits. We went over to DHS on Monday afternoon after the rain and it was absolutely mobbed. I thought the rain might have cleared it out a bit, but it didn't!

Overall, I was surprised by how crowded it was.

Not a flame, but for information's sake....DIS'ers can subscribe to a thread via the Thread Tools link on the tool bar at the top of each thread. So no need to post a message in order to subscribe. :thumbsup2

Excellent idea to start a running "recent crowds" thread, BTW! :goodvibes It's a topic people are always interested in, and I agree that maybe it should be a sticky.

Anyone have an idea of when alot of the tour groups will be leaving? We were ther the first 2 wks in May and didn't see any:confused3

From what I've picked up on the boards and from personal experience last January, the big months for Brazilian tour groups are January and July because they correspond with school holidays in that country. They didn't bother us in January. It seemed to be more families than groups of teenagers.

It's a funny thing because the tour groups are there in full force and the crowds are large, but the wait times aren't! Maybe DH & I are good at avoiding the groups..haha....but we aren't really paying attention to EMH or anything bc we don't get them!! Today was our 5th day there and the longest we waited in line was for 20 minutes for Buzz..(walked on BT, Space (2 times), walked on Splash etc..) Maybe it has to do with us arriving at 9am and getting to the popular rides??

Was this an EMH day?

Not morning EMH. I don't know if there were evening EMH hours tho'.
