Recent Crowds

Page 5! I assume people will be coming back after the big holiday. We need some updates!

Sis called again today from Lake City.

They were in MK last night for the July 4th festivities.

DSIS and DBIL had the same reaction.

OMG!!!!!

They got half way up Main Street and could not go any further. I think they got in about 4:30 pm.

They spent the morning in MK, had lunch at the Garden Grill in Epcot at 2:30, and went back to MK. They said that they were able to get on a few rides including BTMRR at MK during the morning.

There is another thread that said that a cm said that they were off 50k for the week, and that MK reached a Stage 2 closing in the afternoon.

BIL also stated that they were picked up in a Disney Cruise Line Bus instead of a regular bus headed back to All Stars Sports. They said that the busses were more comfortable than a regular bus.

Overall, the crowds weren't bad until July 4th, and July 4th was crazy. They talked about WHEN they would be back instead of IF, so it must have been a success.

We were at the MK from rope drop until midnight on July 3rd. It was not nearly as crowded as I had expected from reading here the past few months. We had the best time! We got to ride everything we wanted to, we rode our favorites quite a few times, really made good use of fast pass, scheduled table service lunch and dinner to get a nice break from the heat, LOVED the firworks, they were AMAZING.

I almost canceled this trip many times after hearing about the summer crowds and heat. I am so happy I didn't. We had a really great time.

I will be there the end of next week and wanted to know if the parks were less crowed now that the holiday week is over.....

I'm curious too about post July 4 crowds (granted the weekend isn't over yet). We're heading to WDW the first week in August and are hoping crowds are a bit less than usual....:goodvibes

So I've seen a few other reports that days around the 4th were much less crowded than previous years.

Hopefully we'll get some post-4th reports soon.

my husband and i went last week (june 28 - july 5). i have to say i was extremely surprised at the crowd level... it was not nearly as high as i was expecting from all of the reports. we both hate crowds, so i know it was not bad. however, on july 4, we made sure to get out of the parks before the fireworks, the crowds were obviously picking up. made one major error.. got on a bus to downtown disney to connect to our resort... ouch. took 1 hr to go from the marketplace to PI. I would suggest avoiding that area on holidays. :) other than that, the crowds were definitely lower than i thought. we got up late on most days and managed to see everything we wanted to.

hope this helps. :wizard:

I think you should avoid that route at the best of times. Over the course of my 4 previous trips the worst bus waits have always been for DTD. Even more than those nights when you stay til park close with a million other people.

Thanks for the report!

I've seen a thread reporting surprisingly low crowd levels in the parks right now on the TGM Vacation forums as well as this one. Anyone else seeing this? Hope it's true: I'll be there in two weeks!

Me too! I'll be there in 6 days! :cool1:  :yay: :dance3: :cool1: :yay:

8 days for us...It is our first trip so I won't know what to compare it to but I will be happy if you guys say the crowds are down...

Nine days for us. Hoping for low crowds, low humidity, no rain and cheaper gas. Pretty much in that order.

Only 2 days for us and we'll be there. We're in the home stretch. :thumbsup2

I'm leaving tomorrow, but I'll just get to WDW on the 19th. I really hope the crowds are not as bad as I'm expecting!!
