Recent Crowds

Anyone just returning with info on crowd levels? We leave Monday morning and I'm curious... Thanks:goodvibes

I'll be in AK and HS tomorrow...will report back......

Well, it wasn't too bad today. We got to AK at 9:30, hit EE (lin,e was 15 min), got off, got a FP for 11:40, walked onto the safari (NEVER done that before...it said 30 min..but literally walked on), 15 min for ITTBAB, and then back to EE. Got over to DHS, 15 min for Star Tours, 5 min for Muppet 3-D, got a FP for RNR, 45 min for TTT (this was the only one we had to wait...it said 30 min, but then Brazil showed up in the FP line and everything got backed up), 15 min for Movie Ride and 10 min for Little Mermaid....the only thing we couldn't really do was the new toy story ride. FP were gone by noon and the wait was 70 minutes.

Thanks for the great info:thumbsup2
I'm worried about my August trip since most of the resorts are booked up.
This thread has calmed me some.

jezebella - Thanks so much for reporting back to us. We leave Monday and I can't wait!!! :goodvibes

How are the tour groups in general? Are they basically teens? I have read posts in years past that say they get loud (chanting?) and somewhat rowdy? It's been many years since we have gone during the summer.

There were A LOT of tour groups...but they were very well behaved and I didn't see hear any chanting this time...the most obnoxious thing was the man in the Voyage of the Little Mermaid who refused to "go all the way to the end of the row" and kept shouting that it was his daughter's birthday and he wasn't moving....I love ppl who have a sense of entitlement. It's not our fault you're too stupid to figure out if you let people go ahead of you, you can time it right to get in the middle. Ok...rant done!

Thanks for the reports! This sounds like great news, maybe it won't be as crowded as I thought. Just a few more days to go!! Keep the reports coming!!

There seems to be a a lot of posts that say it wasn't too crowded. I am curious to know if on those days that aren't too crowded if they are EMH days are not. The same goes for the days that people are saying it was very crowded. I am still tossing around the idea of switching some of my park days based on EMH's. Right now I planned everything around evening EMH's.

Basically, I think it would also be helpful if when giving your crowd report if you say if it was an EMH day or not.

Thanks to all of you who are giving reports!!! :disrocks:

Certainly we avoided them like the plague and it went very well.

Thanks for the info! I have a large family, I can deal with teens.

I am confused about the EMH too. I already reserved all my dining plan around the parks with early and late EMH because I would like to spend more time in each park and don't have park hopping tickets. It was done 3 months ago, way before I found Disboards and started learning about tips and tricks (It's gonna be our first trip to WDW). Now I read everywhere that we should skip the parks with EMH (early or late). I am going to be there during free dining period from Aug 27-Sep4 and it's IMPOSSIBLE to make any changes to my dining plan (I called and called but no luck!) I could make a switch for couple days due to dining booked at resort (not in park), but that's it. I have 2 little kids and mostly will be there for character meetings, shows and kiddie rides. Do you think I SHOULD FORGET ABOUT ALL MY DINING RESIES TO AVOID THE PARK WITH EMHs or Just keep my "bad" plan and hope that the crowd will not be that bad when we're there? Forgot to say that I do plan to take mid-day breaks for the kids.

I am here right now! The crowds are huge, but the we have been lucky to get on all of the rides we wanted to. (Monday) It was definetly wall to wall people. The main problem was the heat. I was drenced from the heat all day. All in all we had a great time, but I won't be back in the summer again. The tourist groups are here, but we had NO problems with them at all. Very little chanting and no line cutting by them. They are only there to have a good time as well.

I hope this helps all and don't forget your mister. You WILL need it.

Which parks have you been in and which days did you do them? Were those parks having Extra Magic Hours on those days? Would the parks still feel wall to wall if all the tour groups weren't there, or are they a majority of the patrons?

Are there any more recent reports?

We are leaving in 4 days and I'm getting really anxious!

These are GREAT questions! Crowds in one park (let say EMH MK)may not necessarily mean crowds in another (perhaps non-EMH Epcot). I would expect MK to have much higher crowds all around. It would be interesting to know the details.....:upsidedow
