Recent Crowds

We thought that June was less crowded than spring break trips we've taken. Our previous trips were the end of March two weeks before Easter and the last week of April which was some sort of New England spring break week. In general there were more people, IMO, at both the March and April trips. But not WAY more people. I think if you can handle June, you can handle spring break (but have NO knowedge of a spring break over Easter week!)

Thanks!

It stinks to have a teacher in the family sometimes!

Just returned from 5 days. Other than Monday, MK was less crowded than we expected (although we have never been before so we cannot compare with other years). Short waits for headliners in the morning (5-20 minutes). Fastpasses available all day.

Animal Kingdom also seemed very manageable, although Epcot on Sunday was crowded and even though we went for fastpass for Soarin' first thing, the lines to get the passes were already very long. That park has so few "thrill" attractions that I think everyone just floods the rides that are there.

Storms every afternoon, and very humid.

We had a great trip - good luck everyone.

My sister starts her trip on Saturday.

I will try to get some information out of her while she is down there.

I have not been at this time of year before, so keep that in mind (we tend to go during FWF and early May)...

We were able to do everything we wanted (some stuff twice) in our brief, 3-day trip - hit all highlights, mainly bigger/fast stuff since we're kid-free and were traveling with kid-free friends who wanted to do thrill rides. We managed it by getting there early, early, early - 20 min before opening, including EMH days. We did: Sunday - AK and Ep; Monday - DHS, MK, and Ep; Tuesday - MK and Ep (we head to Epcot for some relaxation, a beer, a walk around WS in the afternoon every day, as you can tell). The worst park was MK. We did a spin on Buzz with fastpass on Monday there, but nothing else because wait times were all over 50 min and fastpasses were going for hours later. Tuesday was MK EMH, we did everything we wanted and some extra stuff by about 11:45, then left - when we left, the crowds/waits inside were getting pretty nasty...and outside? By the turnstiles? Oh, my GOSH. GRIDLOCK. Utterly insane. Other parks all seemed OK, less busy than I was expecting (exception was Toy Story Mania - we ran to get a fastpass first thing at EMH, and it was already putting us on at 10 am!! THAT is a fun ride!)

In short - you can do everything, but I urge you - GET UP AT THE CRACK OF DAWN!!!! I will not be back at this time of year, but for those of you without a choice, it's doable. You guys are TROOPERS!

We were there June 20-22 and went to AK on Friday around 1pm...it was busy but AK always seems busy to us. The EE standby line was 30 minutes, walk on to Its Tough To Be A Bug. All the rides in Dinoland were walk on. There were just many people walking around but the rides were not bad...so thats a good thing right?

On Saturday we went to Epcot for rope drop and stayed until 10:30 and it wasnt that busy at all. Got right onto Soarin twice with just a 5-10 minute wait. No line for Living with the Land boat ride. We then went to HS and that place was packed but it was Star Wars weekend so I expected it to be very busy. We stayed until 3 and then went back to Epcot which was still really quiet.

Just wanted to say we were there from June 22-24, and we thought the 22nd was visibly less crowded than the 23rd and especially the 24th. I agree that some of the waits were not as bad as we were expecting, but that is possibly because we did not wait in a single line after about 1 pm. I think the end of our trip was the start of the July rush!! Again, I have no comparion - we don't go that time of year typically.

just got back from our trip (june 21-today)

Sunday Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Rode Everest 3 times, the safari, dinosaur (got a car to ourselves for year of a million dreams :woohoo: ), its tough to be a bug and walked the trails before noon. Then we headed over to Epcot for a couple hours and rode soarin, ellen's energy adventure, and spaceship earth. Didn't think the lines were too bad at either park.. just HOT!

Monday Magic Kingdom-- Rode BTMRR, jungle cruise, pirates, haunted mansion, space mountain, COP, TTA, and buzz all before noon. Then grabbed some lunch and rode pirates again, saw the tiki bird thing, and rode peter pan. The only thing we ended up fast passing was buzz and peter pan because lines weren't bad at all. We walked around the park at the end of the day and we were back to our hotel by 330.

Tuesday DHS-- rode toystory mania, rock n roller coaster (2 times), tower of terror, backlot tour, great movie ride, muppets. Toy Story mania is very fun!

Wednesday Epcot-- Rode soarin, test track, honey i shrunk the audience, figment, and nemo all before the world showcase opened. Then we went to the world showcase and ate and drank and rode the rides there.

Thursday DHS-- (went only in the morning to do toy story again) Got a FP for toy story, then rode. FP was for 940 so we went into One Man's Dream to wait for the FP time and got year of a million dreams mouse ears :woohoo: . Then we rode toy story again and then spent the day at downtown disney!

Over all, we were amazed at how much we actually got done. With planning, FP's, and rope drop, the trip went very smoothly!

Awesome review:thumbsup2

no problem!:goodvibes we did a couple more things than i posted but i couldnt remember when! for instance, on the first day i now remember we also rode living with the land!

OK, I just got off the phone with SIS.

She said that the crowds were no worse than our trip together in April '07.

So...the crowds are really not bad at all. The only thing that she mentioned was that they waited 45 minutes in the stand-by line at Toy Story Mania on Saturday night after a rain storm, and that the wait for Peter Pan was too long at 11:30 on Monday night. (I don't know what she meant by too long.) They got on Dumbo instead, so it couldn't have been too crowded.

She also mentioned that there were very few Americans in the park. I think that is a little ironic for the July 4th holiday week.

Yeah, I wonder about that. With the value of the dollar, it's a great time not to be an American vacationing in America.

I'm hoping there will be a lot of Brits there with me next month. DH & I loved hearing the accent and the polite way they said things last year. A British accent makes normal stuff so funny. :thumbsup2 We could definitely learn a thing or two.

Anyone else recently back?

Actually, SIS commented on the lack of POLITE people in the park. I won't mention any nationalities, but lets just say the group leaders were carrying flags, and the people totally disregarded lines. Ugggh!

Yeah, I hope they're gone. We did see a group or two last year in August-- only at MK, but they weren't overwhelming. If I saw them, we turned around and went the other way.

Wait times seem down compared to last year especially at this time of year. I remember this time lastyear for the full two weeks june 30th until mid july that the queues for everything where very busy especially EE. The waterparks allways seemed busier than the theme parks.

We were there the same time!! Hope you had a great trip; we did. :thumbsup2

I was very surprised myself at the amount of things we were able to do and we really didn't get to the parks that early. Most of the time it was mid morning of early afternoon. It was crowded, but I've definately seen it more crowded the week after July 4th.
