Have not been there recently, but used to work there.
The landslide does not particularly involve the tourist areas/downtown. However, it did impact the 3rd Avenue bypass, which is the road the locals used to bypass the main downtown tourist area, so one might expect more car traffic downtown while they are working on clearing the roads and establishing what areas near the slide are safe.
I'd also bring some patience and grace for the Ketchikan residents, as it is a small, close-knit community, and the sense of loss and displacement is real.
