If you've been to Ketchikan since the landslide, how did the landslide impact the touristy areas of Ketchikan?

Have not been there recently, but used to work there.
The landslide does not particularly involve the tourist areas/downtown. However, it did impact the 3rd Avenue bypass, which is the road the locals used to bypass the main downtown tourist area, so one might expect more car traffic downtown while they are working on clearing the roads and establishing what areas near the slide are safe.

I'd also bring some patience and grace for the Ketchikan residents, as it is a small, close-knit community, and the sense of loss and displacement is real.

It is such a sad situation. The losses I have read about are devastating.

The landslide happened this past Sunday. The Disney Wonder was in port the day before (Saturday) so I guess we will have to see if the ship docks there this coming Saturday.

Just got off of the Wonder this morning (September 2nd). We did stop in Ketchikan. The one channel that has the morning report did have comments about the land slides. The land slides really didn't affect the downtown area. I don't know if it affected any routes to any excursions. Our excursion wasn't directly impacted. I recall there was mention of what areas to avoid if you do go out on your own. If you stick to the area by the port, you won't be impacted at all.
