If you have added on recently, were the points you got available for an August 05 trip?

I just called last week and added 75 points at VWL. We have an August use year and got the points starting in August 04.

We added on twice this month, BWV and BCV, both August use years, all 2004 points available, and we were able to make reservations immediately.

Through Disney, $89 per point for all sold-out resorts, went up from $84 per point on August 3rd.

When you add-on through DVC you always get a full allotment of current years points, as well as the next year. If you decide to do an add-on with an August use year, you'd get all 2004 points as well as 2005's. We just did an add-on with a Feb use year and got all 2004 and 2005 points. I banked the 2004 points immediately.

Mrs. M, were there other UY available for the VWL! I think after this trip, I have convinced my DH for an add-on!! Finally!!

If you're considering adding on at SSR (I noted that your countdown clock indicates you'll be doing SSR in 41 days! Yay!), you can take advantage of doing an add-on with special incentives.

FYI, DH and I just added on 130 SSR points at $85 ppt, August UY, points available for the first time in 2005 (this is the AP special!!). So, the answer to your question (even with SSR's possibly more stringent requirements) is "yes."

I am considering taking advantage of the current incentives at SSR(the AP special), but I have a Dec. UY. I would have to finance it, but I'm not sure when my first payment would be due. Also, if I took advantage of the $10 off per point, would my points be available in 2005 or 2006? Please forgive my ignorance---I've put a call in to my guide, but I always get better info here! Thanks!

If you want to add on with a Dec use year, you need to do it this month. We are currently in the process of adding on at SSR for the AP special. We have a Dec use year at BCV and our guide offered us DEC-04 points at SSR that we are going to bank since the 50% banking window is AUG-31. We also received the $5.00 incentive not the $10 since we received our points immediately. He said our 1st payment should be in about 45 days. I thinking about Oct 1st. If you call today, you have time to get everything squared away before Aug 31.

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question about financing: we charged it (to get FF miles), and will use our home equity line to pay it off (much lower interest rate than what DVD offers!!).

If you did the $10 off ppt, your points would be available in December of 2005 -- next year.

Just added on 200 BWV pts use year June. We are so excited! We have 105 at VWL and another 220 (our original contract) at BWV. We thought about buying a resale, But that was during the big ROFR time and the re sale we were looking into got swept up by Disney plus it was a diiferent use year then what we already had. I called our disney guide and told him that we wanted to add on at BWV and at that time there were no pts available. It took 4days for him to call us with the news that pts became available. It was very hard to find a resale with the same use year(June) so that why we went to Disney.

We are very happy with Disney and figured that paying alittle more now for what we really wanted without waiting was worth it!

We had an add-on at BWV (August use year) come through about the 3rd week of July. We got 2003 & 2004 points. Only had about a week to use the 2003 points. Believe it or not, we were able to book a 2 bedroom and studio at VWL on 1 weeks notice for 1 night for relatives that were staying in the St. Pete Beach area on vacation. So at least 54 points didn't go to waste! And our relatives fell in love with the VWL. They said NOW they understand why we go so often!

I don't know how SSR add-ons work. Maybe someone on the boards will know the full scoop.
