Received our personalized maps today!!

We received our personalized WDW park and resort maps today! Only 104 days until we leave for WDW, but after receiving the maps, it feels closer. I hate waiting. My patience is wearing out. What in the world can I do to pass the time?

I can't order our maps until after March Disney has a rule you can only order them every 6 months.
DD8 & I have been for clothes, trading pins and anything else she thinks she needs. Thankfully DH is not home or he would be vetoing everything we have looked at. ALthough we have not bought anything yet!

My DH says that I am over doing it. He thinks that it's ridiculous that I am on the DIS boards all of the time talking about WDW. I am just so excited about our next trip - how can he not be?

Sounds like my DH! I'm going by the boy scout motto " Be Prepare."
We're staying at OKW. Just DD 8 & me first night, DH had a commitment come up and can't leave until the next day. He's lose. We'll do a girl's night out and try not to have fun

Oh, that sounds like fun! Indulge that night!

We are staying at the ASMuFS. We are going as a Grand Gathering (family and friends) group so we decided that this would be the best resort for all of us since they have two bathrooms and a kitchenette. I can't wait either! I am ready to start packing now but I think that my husband would have me committed if I tried!

DH found out DD & I were . He didn't have a problem until he saw how many trading pins we had bought. It was a good deal got 20 pins for $2 per pin. Told DD these pins are for trading! Of course if there are any LE in the batch, they'll have to be put up. DH thinks your suppose to keep all the pins you buy . He started buying some on our last 2 trips. He just won't trade.
Also got a good deal on summer nighties for DD at Disney shopping.

We're doing our first trip in Dec. I noticed the customized map thing on the Disney site. Are they something I should get? My DS8 and DD6 are already excited looking at photos of AKL & Poly (where we are staying) in some of the DIS threads...they might enjoy looking at maps as well?

Sure they will. My kids look at them and talk about where we should go first, second, etc. It keeps them excited plus it helps us plan our days! One may look at one map while the other looks at another. You could also save them until your trip and have them look at them while you are driving/flying. ColonialTinker said that you can reorder another set every 6 months, so you could order a set now and then another in Sept. or October. Then you will have a set of maps for each of your children. My oldest DD can look at these maps for an hour at a time. But then she's into planning!

An idea to pass the time... we had our 6 month wait between booking and trip, and each Sunday night we watched a disney movie as a family. It helped count the weeks for us, each of us picked our favorites to be included, and we got out some classics that we don't watch much. It was a great way to stay in the spirit! The girls started to count the weeks by the movies left to watch. It was cute!

Sorry I'm still a little confused

I can find customized maps on the Disney website (where you highlight places in the park and then print it off) Is this the same thing you're talking about? It doesn't say anything about sending them to you.

What a great idea! That had never crossed my mind! The kids talk about movies to take with us in the car (that changes constantly), but I never thought about watching a Disney movie each week. We do family movie night on Friday's, but it might be better to switch it to Sunday!
