Received my new Magic Band 2.0 .... :(

Call me crazy, but I'd love to have a big ol' ring for my puck. Then I can stop mistaking my MB for a watch, wear a watch, and stop driving DH crazy by asking him what time it is every 10 minutes while we're in the parks. :duck::rotfl2:

I have to say I thought the same exact thing when we received our 2.0 bands. But we wore them constantly last week and had zero problems or discomfort, even on my kids' tiny wrists. My wrist is also pretty small and I realized the trick was not to wear it on the same wrist as my watch and it didn't bother me at all. View attachment 219473

OMG that's HOOOOOGE!!! :(

I had the old ones when we went in December, but I am not loving the looks of the new ones. Honestly, I will probably stick it in a keychain on our next trip.

We were not fans on our trip. They ripped off our wrists every time we picked up or set a kid down for some reason. We ended up losing 3 throughout the course of our trip because they were so light we couldn't even feel if they were on or off (plus the weather was cold so they would be hidden under our jackets). We received replacement magic band 1.0's at the front desk of our resort and those never came off our wrists so o_O

And I will note that none of our magic band 2.0s were ever turned into lost and found so I wonder if people found them and pocketed them because they're new? The world may never know.

I thought it was comfortable but my backpack strap kept getting caught on it every time I took it off. I didn't have that problem with the old ones and you take your backpack on and off all day at Disney.

not a fan of the size.....since I wear multiple things on my wrist.
We don't go again until next Jan, plan on the caribinger thing.

I had that problem with the old ones, though. And it would pull them off. Which is why I use sliders (luckily I have a DVC slider and a 2013 slider) and for the 1.0 I have a cloth band cover that they used to sell.

The only part that I think is overly large on it is the overlap of the broadest part of it beyond the wrist bones. It doesn't bend there. So if you have smaller wrist bones, it's never going to be close to form fitting.

I'm not a fan of the size mostly because I wear an Apple Watch and plan to wear it in the parks to track steps. It is essentially like wearing two watches with the size of the bands. I feel like if I wear it on the opposite wrist I will 1) feel like I'm wearing handcuffs and 2) mess everything up at the turnstyles if my band is on my left wrist (I am left-handed). However, I also felt like this with the old bands too.

The saving grace with the new version is they will have other options with the puck. So go ahead Disney...take my money for one of your key chains or whatever.

I never owned a magic band 1.0 but it looked like it would have fit on my left wrist with my Apple watch now I have to wear it on my right wrist lol first world problems

we hated wearing the original ones so I certainly wont be wearing these new HUGE ones. I decline new ones every year and hope the old ones keep working! we roll them all tightly into themselves and once through the tapstiles they get put away. NO THANKS MAGIC BANDS

I do not like the look of the new ones at all... would probably only use them with the Magic band keeper but then it's an added expense...
I understand you can still use the old Magic bands, can you have your tickets linked to both?
What I mean is, can I order the new one and use just the puck with the keeper AND wear my old style band too?
Sorry if this is a dumb question

We're coming in May. Do you think we'll be getting 2.0? On the selection screen it showed the 1.0 bands still when I was selecting colors.

You could just ask for and use cards.

Tickets are linked to your profile on your MDE account. The magic bands or cards that are also linked to your mde profile access your info when put against a tapstile. Any card or band on your profile will access your ticket (and room and charging and FP+) info. So yes you could use both. Not sure why you would wear both at the same time though.

2.0. We have 2.0 because they are already sending 2.0. :)

I don't know if I would use both, but I am 99% sure I would not wear the new band. I think I would wear the one from last year and have the puck secured on my bag in case it was more convenient. In theory, I don't know.

While I don't love the new design, I do love that there are options besides wearing it on your wrist. I wear several bracelets on my wrist all the time, and adding the magic band was always a bit of a pain. I eventually moved it to the strap of my crossbody bag and that worked fine for me, so I'll do the same with the key fob and I'll be good to go.

first year mbs came out we asked for cards and used them! after that the following year the front desk was hesitant and we just let it go and rolled the bands up wicked small and have used them like that ever since. we are a no band wearing family

They look HUGE! I like the convenience of the magicband , especially at the pool and water parks. I am not crazy about how wide and large these are at all. We will have to wait and see.

does anybody know if the old mickey mouse watch that I spent 20 bucks on so that it will slide onto my magicband will still fit on the new band?

Oh my gosh I had to laugh. Both DH and I kept looking at the MB like it was a watch. DH was like "all this $$ and technology, they could have at least put a digital window so it doubled as a watch"
This is the 1st trip with FP +so we were constantly checking the time

I looked at my non-exisitent watch and asked DH what time it was (he always wears a watch) so many times he bought me a watch 3 days in to the trip!
