My bill went from $157.00 last month to $313.00 this month. :earseek:

We knew they said to look for a 40% increase and boy were they they right. Has anyone else received their December bill?

I was on the budget for gas. The bill was $135/month year round. I received a notice in Nov. that my budget was going up to $301/month. I called and asked to be taken off the budget. Just got a bill for $212 (with a note that said if I wanted to go back on the budget it would be $185/month!). They really don't know what they're doing.

Yup, just got my bill too! Went from $122.00 last month to $276.00 this month. And it's only an estimated bill. I dread when they actually read it
next month! :guilty:

$100 last month

$413 this month

Cant wait to get next months..lol

96 to 213 this month. However it was a really cold Dec around here.

Still last Dec was around 125.

DH is a little annal about such things. For his own interest he keeps a spreed sheet with the amount used, how cold it was (info found on line) and how much our bills are.

Things seem to be on track with the 40% increase.

All in all it bites. No hurricanes or earth quakes in MI, but the price of living is still going up. ;)

I forget to mention that we do everything "right" also to save engery. New windows, good instuluation, thermastate that turns down at night and when we aren't home. We do have a gas fireplace, but we don't use it too much. We also use gas for our stove, and dryer.

I did....ours was $171. :faint: :faint: Usually it's about $120 for this time of year, maybe $130. Ouch. We have a small house too, but we desperately need a new furnace. That would probably lower our bill $20-30 a month or so.

Got my heating bill today. We also have a gas water heater. Last month it was $125, this month $289, but it said I had a $66 credit because they bought cheaper gas in Oct and passed the savings onto us.

I am on the budget plan where I pay $121 a month, I actually have a $40 credit yet, and it said my budget payment next month is going to $161. :confused3

In Wisconsin it is a law that they have to read the gas meter every month from Sept.-April.

My gas bill was 340.00!!! And we keep our heat at 66 all the time! And we even got brand new windows a year ago!!

We actually made out okay. Even though the gas rate increased, our usage dropped about 15% compared to last year so that buffered the effect of the rate increase. DW went back to work this year so the house is empty all day. I started using the programmable thermostat to turn the heat down to 62 in the morning and put it back up about 45 minutes before we get home. That's made a big difference.

I have propane so I filled up , it cost me $360 but that was in mid November and I still have a couple more weeks left in the tanks. The max they will charge for fill ups until July 2006 will be $378. We just did a good tune up and replaced some parts in our boiler , I think that actually made a difference!

We went from 79 to 329 this month. OUCH! We keep our heat at 65 during the day and 59 at night. I guess it will go down a couple more degrees at night.

I notice everyone is comparing their bill from this month to their bill from last month. What you should be doing is comparing your Dec. '05 bill to your Dec. '04 bill for a more accurate comparison. We don't use as much gas in Nov. as we do in Dec. It generally isn't as cold.

I haven't received mine yet, but I called to get the figures--last year $118.14, this year $304. And we have lowered our termostat from last year, and it has been milder weather. I am on equal pay, and the amount was $82 for September, then it went to $157, and in January it goes to $243. It is ridculous!!

Wow, I would be in big big trouble, I turn the heat on when my house gets below 74. I have all electric which on the budget plan runs $191/mo. So far I have had the heat on 4 times this past month.

Remember also, even when comparing '05 to '04, for many parts ofthe country (I know here for sure) were MUCH colder, therefore higher consumption. Ours was higher, not nearly what I thought it would be, $237 if I recall.

Got my bill...$53. I paid the same last year. We'll see how January goes. :faint:

Don't have a gas bill; we have an all electric house. My bill doubled from Nov to Dec but then again so did my usuage :) .

I feel your pain!! Mine is usually around $60.. went up to $180 this month..
