I received a FD Pin code yesterday :)

and it is good for when we are going but I'm not sure which would be the better deal:

- sticking with the room discount PIN I had used to book the room

or

- switching over to free dining and reverting back to the rack rate on room - $385

I guess I have to look at how we eat, what we eat, and so on and so forth?

If you're saying it will cost $385 extra to get the FD and go up to rack rate, you will have to decide if you would normally spend more than $385 on food for your stay, AND if the dining plan suits your style. If it is for QS dining, is that how you want to eat? Or if it is regular DDP, do you want all those ADRs?

I was disappointed not to get FD, but realized we want breakfast in our room, 2-3 TS, and the rest QS on a 6 night stay. None of the dining plans fit that style, so we will pay OOP and enjoy the room discount...

We;d need a little more info to help you. How many people - # of adults children? I'm assuming the $385 is the rack rate so staying at a deluxe? And what was your % off?

Thanks for the replies. Here is more info: rack rate is $385 per night, (deluxe) and 3 adults. 7 nights. My room discount was 35% off room.

Thanks!

I just applied a free dining PIN to my email. We had already booked with the DxDPP. I clicked the link in the email to book with my PIN and booked exactly what I already have and it saved me money versus the % off the room that I previously booked. I think ours was 30% off. This was also saving money even with paying to upgrade the dining plan. However, if you didn't plan on using the dining plan I'm not sure if it would save money or not. I guess it would just be how you planned to eat. If you eat a lot of TS, you could consider using the PIN and paying the difference to upgrade from QS to a different plan for more options.

I don't think it saves you $

Rack Rate $385 + 12.5% tax (??) = $433/nt

35% off room = 250.25 + tax = $282/nt

433-282 = $151 per night extra you will pay to get the FD. ($1057 for the week)

If you were going to add the dining plan it would be $45.99 / person
45.99 X 3 = $137.97

So, according to my calculations your 35% off is a better deal for 3 adults at a deluxe!

Thank you for doing the math for me - my head gets to going in circles:rotfl:

Also, One of our "adults" is DD11 and she eats like a bird.

So I don't think she would eat as much food as is on the DDP.

I think I need to keep our room discount as is.

Thanks!
