Hi. I received an email tonight with a PIN and it's during the supposed free dining dates which rocks but it's for a Value Resort. There are 5 of us and I am wondering if they would apply the PIN to the POR or to a Value Suite because 5 cannot fit in a Value room? Not sure exactly how these things work but wondering if anyone has ever been able to negotiate. I think it's weird they would send it for a Value. The email stated that it will be our first trip, which it will be, so I would think they'd know there are 5 of us because I always put that many people when pricing packages out.

We were not planning on going until 2009 but for a discounted rate and free dining, we would go this September and cancel Disneyland for this December. I tried to call but they are closed and I am afraid I will not be able to sleep without somewhat of an answer. ;)

Stoked in any event to get a PIN. :woohoo:

Thanks for any input!

I know this doesn't answer your question (and I think only Disney would be able to do that for sure).. but, just to let you know- If you use the PIN, you won't be eligible for free dining. Disney doesn't allow you to stack discounts. (The only exception I can think of is that SOME people were able to get free dining and a AAA discount last year.)

Congrats on getting a PIN code! I've never used a PIN before but I think that you can get discounts on moderate and deluxe hotels too. You call in and they can look up the discount for you at other resorts. That's at least what I've seen posted before.

Unfortunately, you probably can't combine the free dining with another existing offer. It's either one or the other. With a family of 5, you would probably come out ahead on the free dining. We did the free dining last year with our family of 5 and are hoping they offer it again this year. It ended up saving us a ton of money!

Hope you are able to get a good deal and go this fall! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for the replies! Do you know if you don't use a PIN, will they send you further PINs?

If we don't use this, can I give it to someone else? I would hate for it to go to waste, ya know?

I was hoping I could stack discounts. The free dining would be the way to go though for our family of 5 for sure. With 2 adults, a 10, an 8, and a 5 y/o for 9 days, that's a lot of food.

I am going to call Disney first thing in the morning and see what's up.

txaggiemom, your puppy is darling!

No, unfortunately the pin is for your name only. So, you use it or lose it. Yes, you may receive another pin, but then again no one knows for sure if and when. I hope this answers your questions.

A lot of times an offer mentions the price at a value, but is actually good for any resort. So it may be good elsewhere as well.

I've received pins in the past, but it's probably been a good 4 or 5 years since the last one.

Yes, absolutely.

When I got my 40% off pin it stated for a value resort. I don't want to stay at a value resort but like my mom said, "A trip to disney is a trip to disney, if we have to stay value, we have to stay value."

I called and was pleasantly surprised that the pin actually applied to any resort which had availability with the code. I was able to book the CR and the GF with it.

Let us know how yours turns out.

They usually send email offers, etc. for a value resort( introductory rate) as the pricing is inticing ( hey, I can rhyme!). The bounceback offer also stated it was for a value resort but it actually it was able to be used for moderates and deluxes too. I'd call to get a quote for whatever resort you want, although usually the offers don't apply to the ASMu suites...and then calculate what you'd be paying with the free dining offer if/when it comes out to see which would be a better deal. The email served its marketting purpose- to get you thinking about a Disney vacation and considering a stay before your planned trip in 2009.---Kathy

Update: I spoke with a very informative CM today for about 45 minutes. She did confirm that I could not use my PIN and free dining together. She did not confirm free dining was going to be avaibale but did tell me to check their website daily in the next week. ;) She was able to use another PIN for the POR for our family of 5 which was nice. Initially my PIN was for a room only but she found a package PIN for me to use.

She told me to book with the Moderate resort package PIN and if free dining becomes available then to call and add it on while changing the package to not include the PIN. The savings if free dining becomes available is $1179! :woohoo:

Hope this isn't too confusing but I thought you might want to know.
