Yesterday I booked the Poly for 4 days in March. I was actually looking for a moderate and the Poly was all that popped up. As I agonized over the cost the CM asked if I was a AAA member, I told him I wasn't but he gave me the rate anyway.

Is there an expectation that I will join before I arrive in March? Will I be asked for a membership # upon check-in?

You'll have to show your card when you check in to get that rate i believe. I went through a travel agent and had to give them my AAA card number

Im sorry i must be a misguided soul,

I have always gotten AAA or AARP rate for any/all hotel bookings i have ever made, i also typically travel with a group that is a total 4 adults 1 young child and we get 1 room and give my DN(6) a small air mattress (we got her a princess one this disney trip).

I've never been asked to show AAA or even my season pass for passholder rate for that matter

Hope this helps
Chris

I've always been asked to show my AAA card, at Disney or any other hotel that I've booked using the AAA discount.
Last year, I had the AP rate for the POFQ and the Poly in the summer and the POP and the POFQ in December, and each time I was asked for my AP card.

I booked with the AAA rate and did not have the card with the number with me...it was in the car...so, the CM told me that I needed to call back with the number or after a certain amount of time the reservation will default to rack rate.

I just booked AAA rate and wasn't asked for number but was told I had to show card at checkin. Granted it's like any place else it's up to person checking you in to ask to see it lol.

Of course I can't tell you number of times I've been booked with AP rate and asked if I needed tickets.

Ditto.

I believe it's 10% off of Deluxe, 15% off of Moderate and 20% off of Value resorts. Edited to add off the rack rate.

I just had a part of the vacation on AP and a part on AAA, had to show cards for both check-ins

It looks like I better get that membership - just in case. The difference between AAA or not was $200 for four night garden view at the Poly.

Not only have I had to show my card at check-in, the paper from WDW Reservation states: AAA Membership card required at check-in for discount.

AP rate, ENT rate (not for Disney), COSTCO rate (not for Disney) AAA rate---I don't even think I've been asked to show a card half the time BUT I always have the card available. I really don't want to wind up having to pay rack rate.

I think AAA rates this year are 10% off value and 15% off moderate and deluxe, they used to be 20% off deluxe, but I do think it's lower now.

I managed to shave about $400.00 off my stay at BWI in September.

In all my travels, I have never been asked for my AAA card, but I always have it. At the Dolphin last year, I was asked for my Starwood Preferred Card (which was a AAA upgraded card).

Yeah,

membership is cheap enough. Have fun!!!

P.S. If you have any room in your suitcase, I'm sure my family won't miss me for a week or two! Although it would have to be more like a trunk!

My confirmation letter states that we WILL be asked to show our AAA card upon check-in????

Joining AAA is worth it with all the discounts you get. I was also asked to show my card at checkin so I made sure after the trip was booked that I had joined and I'M glad I did because you can even get park tickets through your AAA office at a discount so it is well worth it.

Wait to buy your AAA membership until you find out whether other discount codes from Disney are available. You might do better if Disney releases their discount codes than you do with AAA. If that happens, you may be able to adjust your rates.
