Reboot Spiderman

I hope it doesn't be Twilight like
I think that's one of the biggest concerns about a lot of these franchises -- that they've cultivated the "boy" side of things pretty consistently, but effectively, thereby, left the "girl" side of things un-gleaned. That is a lot of audience essentially being ignored -- a lot of money to be made essentially being left on the street. It would make a lot of sense, in a reboot, to ensure that the presentation makes significant inroads toward attracting and satisfying the female audience, just like Twilight has, given how infrequently that audience has been served by this genre in the past.

Agree. I like Dunst however she just made a poor Mary Jane to me. Needed someone more "innocent".

As far as Maguire, he always looked like he needed a shower. :lmao: Not that he was a bad Spiderman, but they could have picked better imo.

And well S3 movie was horrible.

After watching a beautiful reboot of Star Trek, I have hope that they can do better.

Sorry if that offends but that is jmho.

Does Dunst have a significant set of female fans? or is she just really considered eye candy for the guys?

I have liked her after I saw her in Interview with a Vampire. I just felt like she did not "match" with Maguire. No chemistry there.

Well Spiderman 3 was an abomination. Just a terrible terrible movie...did any of us really need to see Tobey Maguire's dance?

All I'm saying is, let's hope a reboot of Spidey will be as good as Christian Bale's reboot of Batman. Afterall, I thought Michael Keaton wasa wonderful Batman and who ever would have thought anybody could top Jack Nicholson's Joker?

I think that, as a female, I was satisfied with the new Star Trek movie... But then I've been seeing them, Star Wars and various other SF films for a long time. ;)

Yes, I think Star Trek did do a great job with that... I think that Spiderman could really benefit from a similar consideration.

I never like Tobey Maguire as Spidey and the last movie was awful. It was way too sappy and bizarre.

Personally, I'll be glad to see another take on Spiderman.
