I'm going to guess that she gave them the wrong confirmation number. If she gave them the Orbitz confirmation number, then no - Disney wouldn't be able to look that up. The Disney confirmation number is the same type of number you receive when booking directly.
No. I did not give them any confirmation number about my Orbitz reservation at all. I mentioned that I had rebooked an identical reservation through Orbitz and asked about the possibility of making requests/transferring my existing requests, and was shut down at that point without them asking any more information about it.
