rebooking question

I have a West Coast Cruise booked for July 9, 2005...our first disney cruise! :Pinkbounc I just know that we're going to love it and will want to return the following year. My question is this...the 2006 rates just came out and I was thinking of putting down a deposit since I can always cancel and the rates will only go up...but I know you get a discount and stateroom credit if you rebook onboard...so can I book now through DCL and then get the rebooking discount and credit while onboard, or do I have to wait until next July to rebook on board? I want a midship category 6 or 8 (depending on the pricing), so I don't want to miss out on getting a good cabin by waiting too long. What should I do?

I was wondering the same thing! We are going June 11 west coast and I wondered how rebooking credits would work if you wanted to book 2006 earlier. Great minds think alike! ;)

I am giving this a little bump as I would like to know too.
The way I look at it is that if I book now I get a reasonable price, if I wait until next year to book whilst onboard, although I get 10% off and $200 onboard credit will the cost of the actual cruise gone up so much in price that it works out cheaper to book now. What are your thoughts.

You could always book now . . . and then check the price on board. If it is a better deal, book it on board and then cancel your existing reservation.

Great advice!! This is exactly what I was going to say.

But I'm interested in a particular stateroom/location...so would I be able to keep the same room if I rebook and cancel the existing reservation?

But can I cancel and re-reserve :wave2: my same stateroom???

You can book it now and reserve the stateroom that you want. When you get onboard you can check the price and if it is the same or has gone down you can rebook it, get the 10% discount, get the stateroom credit, and yes you can get the same stateroom that you originally booked. Have a great day.

THANKS!!!

I'm also interested in doing this with a little twist: I want to book 2 cabins...1 would be paid with cash and the other "paid" for with DVC points. Has anyone done this and if so how did you do this?
We want to have category 6 or 7 with points and cash for one across the hall for the kids. So, the big question is: can a cabin be "booked" that I want to pay for with points this far out? I'm cruising May 1, 2004 and want to go on one of the special cruises in June, 2006.
