I see a lot of entries where people talk about rebooking onboard -- is there a discount for doing this and is it better than some of the discounts offered by Small World Vacations, Dreams Unlimited, Allseas Travel etc.?

If you rebook a 7-night while onboard, you get a $200 stateroom credit and a 10% discount - you can get an added discount by transfering it to a travel agency. You will have to have a $250 per person deposit when you are on the ship.

How do you get an added discount by transferring to a TA?

Once I get home, I call me beloved TA, tell her I rebooked on board, give her the price I was qupted on board. SHe calls DCL while I am on hold, transfers the ressie to her, and knocks off a few hundred more! Woo hoo! I love her!

Thanks Dzneprincess! I didn't see this question until after you already answered it -- teaches me to not ignore my beloved Disboards for a day!!! :flower:

question....the new rates for 2007 will probably come out in september 2005...my cruise is in october 2005....if i reserve a date in 2007 in september to guarantee early booking savings and put my deposit down then, can i rebook that ressie onboard to get the credits/discount if it is a better deal and not have to have another $1500 (6 people) at that time. In other words, can they shift the $1500 already paid in september to another ressie?

Book it when you can, once you get on board go to the rebooking desk and they just may work with you on your existing ressie, and if not you can rebook while on board for the better deal :-)

THere is a $100 stateroom credit for rebooking the 3/4 day onboard

If I rebook on board, can I just do it in my name and there for only have to put down a $250 deposit and then add the rest of my family at a later date? Anybody ever do this? :goodvibes

wiggles, you can do that, BUT there a 2 drawbacks....the 1st is, you will pay the current rate at the time you add people to your ressie. So if when you book, the rate is say 900 per person, then you add family 6 months later and it may jump up to 1500 per person ( these are just figures off the top of my head), the 2nd draw back, is if you have children. When you add the kids to the resiie you may find that DCL has already reached the maximum number of children and you would not be able to add them.
