Rebooking after receiving postcard

Hi all:

I fear these are really stupid questions, but here goes: I am very new to this informative board and thought some of the experts here could help me understand how the pincodes work. I am already booked for a vacation with a TA with free dining for the end of September, but we just got a postcard in the mail today.

Now I am wondering if I can take advantage of the postcard. I know I cannot use both free dining and the code, but I am wondering if I can modify my reservation (perhaps give up the free dining and take the cheaper room)? Also, do I have to do this through our TA? I called our TA, but they were already gone for the night, of course!

Thanks--Stacey

Hi!

Welcome to the DIS -- these are not stupid questions. There's a LOT to booking a Disney vacation and sometimes I feel you could easily offer a community college course on it!

What you want to maybe do, this is essentially cancelling your existing reservation and booking a new reservation with the CODE.

I'd make sure that what you want is available before you cancel anything and compare the pricing to see what's better for your situation.

Your TA should be able to help you with this.

Yes, I see after reading other posts, that I need to see what the new code would cost after calling, see if I would have to pay at this point to cancel our current reservation and then decide which is the better deal. Off to make some phone calls--thanks for your help and patience!
