Reassure me! Chef Mickey's!

Depends on what your goal is. We went when my kids were 8 and 10 and the food was pretty bad but they had a blast visiting with the characters. It was worth it not to spend hours in line at character spots. This was before they had fast passes for them.

Nope- no way would I spend $500 on 2 meals! CM is fun for a 6 year old, and you have character time. There is so much to do and many ways to see characters now the huge cost is not necessary. And imo the dessert party, particularly for a 6 year old, is too much.

At age 6, I don't think she'll miss Chef Mickey's. You're already meeting him in MK and I think that's fine for her age. We've done all of those character meals and the HEA dessert party. Honestly, I think all of them are skippable for a kid that young, even the dessert party. Maybe line up a fast pass instead for Cinderella instead?

I'll be the lone Chef Mickey's supporter. We went on our arrival night after having some room assignment drama. Had an absolute blast! But I also have two boys who are all about Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
I'll join you. I knew my girls enjoyed Chef Mickey's, but it wasn't until we got home and I looked at the pictures that I realized from the smiles on their faces that Chef Mickey's was genuinely a highlight for them.

However, you say you're worried about the money. Understandable. If the three character meals you're planning are stressful for you to consider, drop one. I'd drop the dessert party -- what are you really getting from that anyway?

You know your budget best, what your kids will enjoy, what you want to do, what you think is worthwhile to do. I'm someone who thinks those extra experiences are way overpriced, that the parks are special enough, that the resort swimming pool and parks are plenty for a really fantastic vacation for my family.

Chef Mickey's was always our first meal of the trip and we loved it. this past visit in May was very blah. The characters took forever even though there were not many tables filled, and the food had changed since we had last visited and DD and I had a hard time finding anything we wanted to eat as we are both pretty picky eaters. I'm sad to say that we won't be eating there again.

Skip CM. We used to love CM. My last visit there was underwhelming to say the least. We did dinner there the trip before last. The food was awful, but the characters were great. My kids wanted to eat there on the last trip so we did breakfast. The food was normal Disney breakfast so it was fine (nothing wonderful but not bad either), but the characters seemed rushed. I'm not in a hurry to eat there anytime in the near future. It just isn't worth it anymore.

We've done breakfast 3x and dinner once. Dinner was okay, but we thought breakfast was great.

OP, why not do Chef Mickey's for a late breakfast to save some money. And then skip the dessert party. I just can't see that being worth it with a six year old.

We like Chef Mickey's a lot, have done it many times. DD liked it when she was younger. The Dessert Party I would skip, I felt it was too crowded almost like it was oversold, not great viewing of the fireworks because we were pushed to the back. We don't do a lot of sweets either so not all at worth it to me.

I would definitely cancel Chef Mickeys, and Happily Ever After dessert party.
