REAS prices going up

Just to let you guys know what I just heard.

I'm cruising in January and called up my TA to ask her to add the REAS package to our reservation. She said she would look into it and call be back. That was about a week ago. Yesterday she called me up and told me how lucky we were. It appears that prices will be going up very soon and although we arent able to book it yet Disney will honor thier current prices for us because we inquired about it before the raise in price. She wasnt able to tell me when the prices are going up or how much the increase will be but I thought I would pass along the information to you all.

Has anyone else heard about this?

Do you know how far in advance you can book the REAS? We are not cruising until August 2005, but if the prices are going to go up, maybe I can book it now at the lower rate. I have been debating about whether or not I should book it. Also, does anyone know if you book it then change your mind, can you cancel without any penalty?

Has the official information - we are on the 12/28/04 cruise and were able to book it although our cruise runs through 1/4/05. I think this is the last possible date to book at this time.

It's added to the cruise total when you book - so it must be paid off by the 60 day mark just like the cruise must

When I talked to Debbie at DCL I was booking our Nov 2004 Palo & spa ressies for our REAS ... I specifically asked about 2005 ... she said REAS will not be available to add to 2005 bookings until Oct or Nov of 2004, and the assumption was that the prices WOULD go up.

I do not think DCL will honor the $299 price for any 2005 bookings just because you inquire about it before the increase ... otherwise we'd all be doing it, and they'd lose $$$ in the long run (the price increase is more than likely directly linked to the spa price increases).

Just my 2 cents....

I can also confirm that the 2005 prices will be going up. I also asked what the reason was that they weren't raising the price in conjunction with the spa increase and it is due to advertising. DCL advertised a set price for 2004 cruises of $299. So, they won't change it until after that time. Chances are, since there is the disclosure that prices are subject to change without notice on most things like this, you will probably see that phrase in the future regarding REAS to keep them from losing $$ just because of how it was advertised.
