I don't plan to until we get closer to August but to be honest I don't know if I wanna go this year. Everything is booked through Disney and is fully paid off. Between CV-19 and the fact that even if it goes ahead it's gonna uber crowded I'm thinking blah, let's move the date. Part of me says next year and the other says 2022. (It hurts it hurts, but ya know)
So if I cancel my hotel I assume my money goes back onto a Disney gift card.I assume they don't expire. How far ahead do I have to cancel with a full refund? I'm hoping maybe Disney will be lenient on this depending how everything folds out :s
My other question is on tickets. I know you don't get a refund but I can use the amount I paid towards new ones in the future right? (I feel like I read this somewhere). Can I put this on a ticket by calling Disney in the future and they put the amount towards any new tickets OR does it have to be done in person?

Thanks guys, nothing is in stone, just considering my options.

If you booked a package (room, tickets and maybe dining together), you have 30 days before scheduled arrival for full refund. 2-29 days you loose $200 and rest refunded. Any closer non-stop refundable.

If you paid using gift cards, that portion would be returned on those gift cards.

If it's a package, t he entire package will be refunded - including the tickets.

If tickets bought separately, you can use the value toward new tickets.

It was bought as a room only and separate tickets. Can the value of the ticket be done by calling Disney in the future and they put the amount towards any new tickets OR does it have to be done in person?

Room-only is fully refundable until 7 (or 5?) days before arrival. The refund will generally go back to the method of payment used (gift cards, credit card, etc.).

The tickets - you should be able to change online before the expiration date, paying any extra due for the new dates. After the expiration date, you will probably need to call but it should be do-able prior to arrival. The tickets may “disappear” from your MDE after expiration but WDW will be able to see them for the credit.

Enjoy your vacation!
