REALLY want first seating... any tips?

We've had all early seatings except for our 4 nighter and we changed that because we wanted to sit with our new DIS friends. Personally, there was more time to do things eating late but we were just too tired to enjoy the meal.

We eat early dinner at home and will opt for that from now on, but it was worth it to sit with Paul and Kaye!! Also, there was a wonderful young couple with three children under the age of 8 - the most well behaved and darling children you could ever find. Excellent table manners and just so entertaining. Everyone at the table complimented the children and their parents for doing such a wonderful job. Considering the lateness of the hour, the children really made dinner a delight!

My DS (7) opted to stay with the kid's club rather than eat late. Of course, when we got him at 11PM the first thing he asked for was "room service" for pizza and cookies! Hey, it's vacation!!!

(P.S. - I sure could use that room service number now! But I doubt if they'd deliver for just a tip!)

I was a November 30th cruiser and since I booked so far in advance, I had the first seating, however, in rebooking onto the Dec 1st Wonder, we had no choice but to take the 2nd seating. I was very disappointed since I had a 3 year old but what choice dd I have.
Comes to find out, I think I would have had more trouble with the first seating because my son did not want to leave the pool area early and since he still naps, we would leave the pool around 4:30 or 5 and then he would nap for about 2 hours and it really worked well for us. If I had the early seating, I would have had to leave the pool around 2:30 for him to nap(otherwise there would be no living with him) but then I would have had a very hard time getting him to leave, so my point is, it worked very well for us and I will definitely book late seating again.
