I am really upset and angry could use a little pixie dust if there's any going. DD was 17 a couple of weeks ago and we got her some driving lessons for her birthday. She was out on her 3rd lesson today and was waiting at an island when somebody ran into the back of her car. Fortunately nobody was hurt and the damage was minimal but she hasn't stopped crying since 11.30 this morning even though it wasn't her fault. I feel really bad for her and am trying desperately hard to make her feel better. I'm worried it will put her off driving again :(

:wizard: :wizard: I'm sending your DD some Pixie-Dust, and I'm pleased that she wasn't hurt. I guess she'll feel like this for a few days, and then hopefully she will get back on track with her driving lessons - good luck :wizard: :wizard:

That's such a shame.............I know she probably doesn't feel like it, but the best thing for her to do would be to have another lesson as soon as possible to get her confidence back.

Sending lots of :wizard: :grouphug:

Lots of pixie dust for your DD :wizard: When I was learning to drive I had a small accident too (the same thing - somebody went into the back of the car). I thought I would never drive again, but after a couple of days I was ready to continue with my lessons. I'm glad she was okay and am sure she will carry on when she is ready :)

:wizard:

Oh bless her heart, no wonder that has upset her! It is really nerve wracking when you learn to drive anyway, without this sort of thing happening.

Can you try and put a positive spin on it? Along the lines of, everyone has a little bump once in a while, and you've had one and seen that you came out OK??

I agree with the others she needs to get back in the seat asap so she doesn't lose her confidence forever.

Lots of luck to her!!

Your poor DD what a 'mare

Sending :wizard: and hoping she hasn't lost her nerve

I really feel for you and your DD - what a shame that had to happen but hopefully in a few days she'll have got over the shock and be feeling better and will want to carry on. I'm really glad she's ok - that's all that matters in the end as I'm sure you felt at the time. Some

for you both!!!

aww :grouphug: i hope your dd is feeling better now, as everyone said she should try another lesson as soon as she can :wizard:

Poor soul. Sending lots and lots of :wizard: :wizard: that she feels ok today. As others have mentioned, it probably would be better if she got another lesson quite soon.

Your poor DD that must have been awful. Glad she was ok. Maybe if her confidence doesn't return you could ask her driving instructor to have a word and reassure her it wasn't her fault.

Hope she's feeling better about it all today :wizard:

Poor Kid! It's such a shame, i hope she's feeling better about it today :grouphug: I'm sure if she reads this it'll give her a wee boost :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I hope your daughter is ok now :) sending her lots of pixie dust :wizard:

The exact same thing happened to me on my 2nd driving lesson - someone ran into the back of me at a roundabout. Not only that but she started screaming and shouting at me that it was my fault cos I could have pulled out and didn't :confused3

It didn't put me off driving. My instructor made me drive home after it and, by the time we got home, I was fine.

I really hope your daughter doesn't let it put her off and realises it wasn't her fault.

I hope she is feeling better today. The main thing is, it wasn't her fault which she will take on board once the shock has worn down. I think getting another driving lesson quickly is important though.

We got my DS17 driving lessons too for his birthday in August.

DD says thanks to you all for the very kind posts, they were very much appreciated. She is feeling much better now (I'm not. It cost me nearly £70 in new clothes to cheer her up :rotfl: ) and she has a lesson booked for Wednesday so fingers crossed :flower:
