Really old partially used tickets - add them to MDE?

Is it a good idea to add old (2003, 2011) tickets to my MDE? Some are partially used, one is partially used child, some are never used (one from 2011).

Will they be able to be "assigned" in the future? This sounds like a good idea to see what exactly is left on some of our tickets - DQ, waterparks, days...

What happens if I add them to my MDE, something happens to me, my family tries to take them to WDW in the future?

I wouldn't add them unless you were actively planning a trip, but you should have no problems doing so. Of course, the partially used ones will have to be assigned to the person who had used them before. Unused tickets can be reassigned until their first use. Still, I would just keep them seperate until you actually do want to use them.

We have no idea who used the tickets. They may even have been used before the finger print scan. They are from 2003.

I would not add them to MDE either. Last year we brought a few old ones that had a day or two left on them and had them transferred to new chipped ticket media at Guest Services outside MK for future use. The CM told us what was left on each. I brought some matte finish clear tape and put a strip on each card and wrote in pen what was left on that card. CM was able to tell who had used each card and wrote the first name in sharpie on them, I had jotted the first initial on the paper ones when they were originally used but not on the newer plastic ones. Don't remember how old they were, but there were all from the time when unused days did not expire.

I do remember the CM wanting to put them on our Magic Bands, but I asked for separate ticket media since we were not planning to use them right away.

We will keep these separate for weekend trips when we just want a day or two, can use the serial number on the back to attach to MDE when we are ready to use them for FP+ and park admission on a short trip.

You can always call and I'm sure they can help you figure out what is left on the tickets and who they were used for.

I regret adding mine. I decided to add mine thinking I would use them on the trip but then decided not to since they are non expiring (this was before I found out they were no longer selling non-expiring). So now I have to make sure each trip what ones would actually be used first. I would highly recommend going to guest services and they can look them up. There is a guest services in downtown disney that you can go to (this is where I go).

Mickeymom, I would wait to add the tickets until you find out exactly what's on them. If enough years have passed the child ticket will need to be upgraded to an adult ticket anyway. For tickets that have never been used, they can be reassigned to someone else in MDE.

I added an old no-expire ticket from 2007 to MDE for an April 2013 trip, I probably did it in Feb. 2013 to book FP+. I thought my ticket had 1 park day left and I know it has pluses left, I believe 4 (I usually write on the tickets as used). So the ticket showed up in MDE, but it had no park days left. I rec'd some msg, I don't remember what it was. The pluses (waterpark, DQ, etc) didn't show up at all. I called Member Services for help as I was pretty sure I had a day left but it turned out I didn't. MS didn't want to get into checking the pluses, said I could use the actual ticket at the gate for those, and said I could have ticket checked at Guest Services or hotel concierge. I didn't press it, as normally old tickets were not checked on the phone (I've read some have had success), and the checking process takes a long time, especially if you have 10 or 7 day no-expire tickets. I didn't bother trying to add any other tickets at that time.

I've been on 4 trip since then and haven't had the old tickets checked yet! Mostly because I didn't want to devote the time to doing it. I have 7 tickets for 5 family members. I know there are a couple park days there, but mostly pluses. Going for a nice long vacation this summer and will make the time to get them checked.

If the tickets were part of a package they may be able to tell who the tickets were assigned to. If the tickets were purchased someplace other than as part of a package, there won't be a name associated with them, only possibly a finger scan, and as far as my previous experience tells me, the only way to find out who a ticket belongs to in that case is at the scanner. We have all our tickets signed.

Your last question is a good one. I have no idea. I'll ask this summer. I have a feeling the old tickets would still work for park entrance, especially since I was told to use the one I entered for the pluses.
