Really nervous, please help me. :(

So your gonna be there for the week we are there? Awesome! :D I'll be sure to wave back. I'm most likely going to be in pain from all the walking (I tend to give up on walking, legs just say "NO MORE!") So try to cheer me up. :)

And now i'm not getting that pin for me or him, thanks. :woohoo:

The pins do not mean what you think they do.....just happens that a large percentage of CMs are family or very family friendly, and they will be sure to provide you with great service at restaurants, shows, that sort of thing. Don't take some of the risque comments on this thread seriously.....unless of course they come from Wally!

No, I wish I was! I've never been to DL. But I'm certain there will be a woman like me there. Sorry to confuse you. There have to be other people out there like me who like to give those smiles.

Hope you have an AMAZING time!!!

When are you going? There is someone else on here who is going real soon.

Get the pins! You'll have tons of fun with them!!!

Ah, you confused me! >.<''

I'm going on October 19th, that whole week. I called it a present for him, and I guess a date as well. Since well.. it's going to be the second week we've seen eachother (we met online o: )

But thanks for saying those words, made my day! :D

I'm sorta not used to the jokes on forums, since people normally do /sarcasm or "just kidding" But thanks, I guess i'll be getting him the pin then, not sure if I can wear it since i'm bi. o.o

I go to Disneyland/DCA frequently. For the most part I've felt very comfortable. Wearing the gay mickey icon pin does help other gay CM's recognize you (because I'm so butch looking and all *hush*) and give you special attention sometimes.

Although I do agree with, if your gut tells you to not show affection at a certain time or if you feel uncomfortable, just do what your gut tells you. Not everyone everywhere is accepting, so yes you could get a look or two or even a comment. Just do what makes you comfortable and you'll be just fine.

This coming from someone who's had to battle being comfortable showing public affection. Disneyland has helped me with that actually.

Thank you very much for your post, I would say that out of the both of us being together... I would be the most straight looking of a bi/gay couple. (I don't do my eyebrows/do anything fancy, I just wear normal clothes and do normal things) As he is well... let's just say he's more a girly type and looks like it too, which I like. So the gay CM's just say hello and stuff? Or do they do odd things they wouldn't normally do?

And I was looking your pictures, you two sure look happy and have a blast when you go there. If you happen to go, i'll be sure to say hello. :)

100% agree with this advice. We were in DW last month and there were several times we went with our "Gut" feeling and didn't show any PDA's. Most of the people were very nice and nobody cared, however, there were a few times we just KNEW, we were being watched and made to feel uncomfortable. We had an amazing trip, ALL the CM's were SO wonderful to us, nobody on staff ever made us feel like outsiders. Belive it or not, the few people who stared, were younger couples, not the older ones like we thought! Go figure! ;)

Ooh, I have the rainbow pin too :)

Like pretty much all the pps said, it's what you feel comfortable with and feel is kosher. I mean, when I go to Disney, I don't really expect to see people playing tonsil hockey, gay or straight.

When my DP and I go places, we hold hands, might have the occasional light peck, but we keep it PG. Sure you might get looks, but I think I'm somewhat oblivious to it now. If people really are that obvious, it makes me want to pull her into a big smooch and say "Build a bridge and get over it!" I don't...but I'd like to sometimes :rotfl:

But thanks, I guess i'll be getting him the pin then, not sure if I can wear it since i'm bi. o.o

You can absolutely wear it too! Yeah, there is a separate bi "flag"/colors, but it's not widely known outside the LGBT community like the rainbow is.

I wear a rainbow bracelet pretty much everyday as a way to not be assumed to be straight, since I'm bi and het-partnered. Seems to be working since every time he and I go out to eat, the server asks if our checks are separate or together...

I really dont think its been any sort of issue for at least the past 10 years at any Disney park!

Tonsil hockey is gross! No matter who is doing it!

A peck on the cheek and hand holding wont even get ya noticed anymore! :sad2:

And ya get some great service from the Cast Members if ya have one of those rainbow Mickey pins on! :thumbsup2

Tonsil hockey is gross no matter who is doing it. To the OP: I've been to DL with my wife several times and never felt uncomfortable with holding hands and hugging. Security is excellent and you will not be bothered. If you want a place to smooch, just head to the Haunted Mansion. :goodvibes

Tell me more about the rainbow Mickey pins!?! Where do you get these?

Need to make a note of that... Best place to make out: Haunted Mansion. :D

Any other places? maybe dark areas/night time? :)

I would guess they would sell those pins at the pin stores in the park, no?

Yes, the do sell them at the pin stations and shops in the park.

There are some really dark portions of Spaceship Earth too. :teeth:

You'll be surprised at just how many of the Disney attractions have very dark areas. :teeth:

I bought my rainbow pin at DHS...I'm sure they sell them at any of the "bigger" pin stations.

LOL It might sound a little bit twisted, but Peter Pan and Snow White have good dark parts too. :lmao: PotC does, but you have to ride in that big boat with other people.

Making more notes now, it'll be funny to see him looking at me as I read the notes. LOL

And i'm sorry your got censored, I too have no idea how that happend. :(

A very big thanks for everybody, I really mean it but yeah... I guess the real life hits you pretty damn hard. Guess i'm no longer in a relationship, so no trip to disneyland next month for his b-day...

Someone can close this or something, but thank you all, it really made me understand how lucky people can be, and some can't.

Well, life does that to you, BUT, please stay here and chat., This is the nicest group of people on the entire DIS.

Sigh, just when I thought I wouldn't hear from him again... I suddenly get a phone call hours later. And after hours of talking, we're still on for the trip. It's the typical "so madly in love, you'll go at eachother with guns when your both made as heck and yet still have a few seconds to kiss and make up." -.-

Thanks again guys. I have a few more questions though.

1. About the Buttons, I heard there was this "Honorary Visitor" or something like that, can anybody explain to me how you get it (If there is a way you have to get it)

2. What are some great places to eat for dinner? Since we're spending a full 5 days (I guess we can call it a week) over there, I would like to know which resturants on the park/on the hotels is good?

3. Since i've never eaten in the park (7+Visits to DLR, and not a single thing eaten besides ice cream LOL) what are some good places? I'm more of a simple eater, fries/chicken and possibly I heard they have bread bowls too?

That's it, TIA for people who answer my questions!
(PS, I know you thought I would leave this place, but after fixing things with him, I feel like I can just stay and have fun with you guys. :D )

Well, when it comes to Disneyland advice the best place to get it is definitely on the Disneyland boards, those people know a lot of stuff, but I know a little.

1. Go to City Hall its on the left right at the beginning of Main Street and there you can ask for different buttons for free, they have happy birthday, happy anniversary, just engaged, 1st visit, and I'm celebrating.

2. I love me some Napa Rose, if you don't mind paying a bit more for a very nice meal, might not be the best for you though if like you say you're a more simple food kind of guy. Check out the storyteller's cafe inside the grand californian, they have a great selection and a buffet so you can try lots of different things. If you want to have a fun time check out Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel, it's a buffet and a character meal, but it's a lot of fun to have the characters come around and take their photos with you, also a bit on the pricey side though.

You'll have a great time at DL. This is So Cal, so pretty progressive, and such a huge number of the cast members are gay that no one really notices anymore. I know we walk around Disneyland all the time holding hands and no one's ever said anything. My friends have mentioned people giving us looks, but I am so oblivious to other people most of the time anyway.

OK, a few thoughts on your posts...

1. No matter what happens, you are always welcome to stay around here and have fun. I have just started posting over here after spending most of my time on the Disneyland boards. The people on here are one of the nicest and most supportive groups you will every meet. They are welcoming of everyone regardless of any labels that society chooses to use. I have also found the boards to be entertaining, educational, and at times a little steamy. Just enjoy the ride, join in the dicussions, and don't take any candy that Wallyb offers you!

2. There are some great options to eating in Disneyland. I am in the same boat as you. I usually don't eat in the parks except for a few special occasions...And of course the corn on the cob!!!! MMMmmmmmm! KingLouie is right on point with his suggesitons. Napa Rose is great. And goofy's kitchen is fun. I liked the rice bowls in DCA at Lucky Fortune Cookery. I believe there are bread bowl items in both parks. Plaza Inn seems to be the place for chicken, but I have never tried it. There is a thread on the DL boards that has pictures of the places and the food. Check it out.

3. Keep it clean in the Haunted Mansion. :rolleyes1 I was riding with a friend of mine and half way through the ride an announcement came on that said "this ride is being monitored. Please use appropriate behavior" or something to that effect. It was great and we couldn't stop laughing trying to figure out what was doing what (or who) in their Doom Buggy!

4. Have fun! Not matter who you are going with, Disneyland is a special place. just take a deep breath and relax and let it soak it in.

Thanks everybody! Talked to him more about the places we should be eating, and he's kinda picky like me, so I guess we'll enjoy the Monte Cristo and that Pommes Frites (Or however it's spelt, sorry! T_T)

I guess for our dinners, we'll be eating at the hotel resturant or somewhere else, not really positive.

One more thing, I don't know if they are still showing Fantasmic, but I heard it's a great thing to see (Along with the fireworks show of course) so can anybody tell me if they will have it and if we can get seatings for it too? :D
