DS is 4 yo & likes cheese pizza, plain cheese burgers, & pasta w/ butter & parm cheese only. You get the idea. He is also 100% boy. He & I will be at WDW for a week. I know I won't be able to handle eating the entire time @ QS or buffets. I want ONE really excellent meal. food to melt in my mouth, etc. & that there will be enough going on that he will be able to sit through dinner. Any suggestions? Would any of the higher end (counts as 2 TS credits on meal plan) places that would fit the bill?

Hoop De Doo Review would probably be your best bet. I wouldn't call it melt in your mouth good food but it will keep a 4 year old entertained.

Most of the 2TS dinners are more like fine dining with no entertainment. Meals are longer, courses are paced. There are children at all of them but they are children who are happy sitting quietly through long meals.

Out of these Narcoosees is probably the most entertaining IMO but only if you can get a window seat and watch the boats. CG has views of MK at night which is pretty but I wouldn't call it entertaining. None of the others offer anything that a typical 4 year old boy would find fun or entertaining.

'Ohana has several activities during the meal for kids (coconut races, dances, etc...). My kids love the food and we've always had great luck with the quality of food. DD always orders Mac-n-Cheese, which isn't on the menu, but they will happily bring for kids if wanted.

My other suggestion is one that, while personally I loathe it, its known for its "antics" and loudness - Whispering Canyon Cafe. I don't think you'd find the quality to be melt in your mouth be any means, but its usually harmless. They have "horse" races for kids and a variety of "atmosphere". We haven't been to Hoop-de-Doo in years, but I agree that it may be a good option if your son likes shows.

Most of the signature dining restaurants - those places really are nicer and most patrons don't go there in their mouse ears and fanny packs - some do and they are easy to spot because those restaurants just aren't the kind of place for that. In terms of kids - obviously they're welcome, but people are spending big bucks (whether by DDP or cash) for a "signature" experience and if you know ahead of time your child would have trouble behaving, I wouldn't set him up for a challenging time.

FWIW, Flying Fish is a really cool spot for young ones if you go EARLY. The decor is very friendly, service is top notch and they have great cocktails! Afterwards, you can take your son for a stroll on the boardwalk and play some carnival games or see some street performers.
