Really, Etsy????

People that sell Disney "custom graphics" on Etsy irritate me. Because I'm willing to bet that the 'artists' have not paid Disney for licensing rights.

This particular graphic REALLY rubbed me the wrong way, though....

See that? $15 for that design??? It's mostly text! And the Mickey heads! None of that is original!!!!!

And scroll down to the bottom..... $5.00 for background removal of a personal photo? That takes a minute or two maybe on Photoshop. $5??? Is it wrong of me to call this person a thief?

Disbrides, please don't pay these people to create "custom" STDs and invitations that you have to print off yourself.... we at Creative DISigns can do that for free (and you probably can, too)!

That is a pretty weak design for $15 dollars. Anybody can make that and no need to apologize. I have had a rant or two myself over designs and unauthorized usage.

Well, I for one am NOT surprised. It's ALL over Ebay as well. I KNOW for a FACT that some of us here have had our work STOLEN and sold on Ebay by others claiming it is thier own work. This is WHY a lot of us will NOT give out blanks.
It's beyond WRONG - it's DISGUSTING AND ILLEGAL. It does make me upset that people SELL these designs - considering that ALL of us DISigners here work so hard and spend so much time creating our work - YES, we do use FREE disney clipart - but the designs we create with it IS OUR OWN WORK and in most cases MUCH MUCH more than just using clipart - MANY of us create our own designs because there IS NO clipart for what we are trying to create. So, for others to profit either off of US or Disney - YES, it upsets me. SO, rant away!!!!!! I'm right there with ya!

That is just SO wrong! I am working on my 3rd trip to Disney in 5 years and I have used many DISigners DISigns here from this board. I SO appreciate the time it took to make every design made for my family.

Cheating that way is just not right.

I see it all the time. I have an etsy account and have people ask all the time if I will make them custom Disney designs. I had a lady in Texas ask if I would create stuff for her to resell in a Disney themed store?!?!? REALLY!!!! Now, don't get me wrong, I have used (with approval) custom designs made by fellow DISers for my wedding shirts, and I do have a Disney embroidery machine, but I use those things for PERSONAL USE ONLY! Ridiculous if you ask me. Okay, now there's my rant!

This is exactly why I had to tell someone the other day that I don't give out "blanks". Why don't people understand that selling someone else's intellectual property without permission is STEALING?!

They don't even have to be selling them. Everybody is aware of my issue i think and it still isn't resolved. Person just changed their username but still is using designs that were created by other designers. If you want to use my designs for personal use, more power to you. But don't ever redistribute them and claim them as your own work. I will take a permanent banning fighting for what is mine!!

What I don't get about the whole Etsy thing is how come Disney doesn't contact these people? Didn't they call Amy Mickey about her designs/website? You'd think they would be ALL over these people!!
And $15 for that design!!! I only discovered this part of the boards last November and from what I have learned through jtanddolly's tutorial, I could very easily make that, and that's not saying a whole lot!!

$15.00. HA!! If that's worth $15 then I owe you guys a FORTUNE!!!

Wow, that is so WRONG! I didn't even know that world existed either. I've used many of the designs on this board for personal use & to make our trips more magical for my family. And I've taken pride in learning how to do some basic personalization so that I don't have to bother you guys if I want to add a year here or change a name there, etc. I'm so thankful for the talent and generosity of all the Disigners! So sorry that there are people like that out there. And it makes me appreciate you guys all the more! Thank u so much!!!
