You know...I shouldn't be surprised with how the original intent of this thread has either been lost or ignored...but I really thought the DIS board family had their collective wits about them better than they have displayed here...

...all this has proven to me is that this country have become so incredibly divided that I don't if we'll ever recover.

It appears as though it's more important now to make the other guy look bad rather than come together and seek solutions...

...if anybody needs me...I'll be barricaded in my basement...because this isnt' worth dealing with anymore...

To the op- I'm really not sure what kind of responses you were expecting. You clearly weren't speaking to the Os', so those on the other side of the political aisle are all of a sudden going to say "gee you're right, we vehemently disagree with his politics but unlike the liberals during the last eight years we should just be quiet and not say anything?" Seriously? And how much time is enought time that it's O.K. for us to speak up? He just signed the largest bill in history, has broken several of the main promises he made during his campaign, but gee he just started so let's not rock the boat. And to those who are pullilng the race card. Shame on you. I really detest Obama's politics but as an American I'm proud that he has made such a success out of himself and I think it's people like you that cheapen that success when you demean the debate with that nonsense. I think maybe you need to look at your OWN motivations for that one.

I'm not an Obama supporter!!!

Nor was a GWB supporter!!!

My entire point is that in less than two freaking months posters here are deemed Obama's presidency a failure! Proclaming that policies he's signed in the past weeks already belly up and painting him a policital liar! You're doing the exact thing you griped at the other side for doing!

Except this time around...there really hasn't even been enough time to really praise of condemn anything he's done! He took a good two years before the threads here on GWB got really snarky. I was able to go back to '03 I do believe and the only thing I saw most of the time was still the occasional "the white house was stolen" thread and at that stage THAT was a moot point as well!

It took time for the threads about GWB to degenerate completely. Now...after a good eight years of this country becoming more and more politically divided it takes a blink of an eye for everything to explode in the other direction!

Also...as I've mentioned...the sheer NUMBER of anti-Obama threads here...most of which started by the same handful of posters...just boarders on ridiculous!

Why not just slap a Sticky thread at the top board...label it the "poop on the president" thread and dump all your premature rants there???

The rest of the threads are flame baiting and the posters know it!

I didn't begin this thread as a flame bait (although I know that's what it has become) I wanted it to be a place where people could maybe...just maybe see where we've ALL gone wrong...both sides of the aisle!!!

Maybe I should ask to have this thread locked...I'm sick of the posting with blinders on that has infested the place!

By the way it sounds like you are referring to certain posters here. And calling them racists and ignorant. How nice of you to point that out to them!

For the record, I went from from being totally crunchy liberal to a foot over the line conservative. It had nothing to do with race or being ignorant. It was most of the liberals, and statements like this, that helped push me over completely to the right.

Unless you werent voting based on political platform, there is no way you can go from Hillary to McCain. Their political views were almost completely opposite. Even if you didnt vote for Obama, there were other candidates closer to Hillary in leanings than McCain would ever be.

While race is obviously not the only deciding factor, I would bet that it is a definite factor for many people, quite a few right here on the DIS.

A perfect example would be the folks who went from being die-hard Hillary supporters to sudden conservatives. Hilllary was just as liberal as Obama, so if you could support her and suddenly become a conservative that means a) you are racist or b) you are ignorant and were voting only on the fact that Hillary was a woman, in wich case your vote was stupid and I'm glad you lost.
