Hi Disers:goodvibes

I can't believe that on the 180 day mark (staying offsite) that I could not book Ohana for dinner on 28th Sept  I thought that this would be easy as a quiet time of year to visit and I was there at my laptop 11am on the day:confused3

Any advice??:worship:

Don't give up. Just keep calling back. Try as early in the morning as you can and try online when you can. If you can adjust your time it may help too.

Ohana is the hot ticket right now.

Many ppl have been reporting that they aren't able to get Ohana even with staying onsite and being able to book 10 days into their vacation.

So you are not alone.

Hang in there, keep checking and maybe something will open up.

keep trying......alot of people cancel and ur early enough that your bound to find it eventually. We are going in 38 more days and had more relatives join our trip making our party of 7 into a party of 9 and with enough persistance and patience I was able to modify all of our ressies to include them (except Le Cellier). So dont give up :)

I agree dont give up, I was trying for Ohana on our trip (30 days!!) and It wasnt until just the other day I snagged one. I didnt think people on here were really getting these ADRs so close to the date, but everyday, (ok, almost every hour I can) I go online or call. One popped up just the other day! Also, there is a Sept 2011 ADR cancellation board on here, you can watch that for people cancelling.
One other way if you dont get the ADRs at all by that day, is walk up at the start of dinner and ask for any openings, weve done this several places and were able to get a 6pm seating.

There is a 9:25 available right now. I would take, go early and see if they will seat you

Hi

Thankyou for all your replies:thumbsup2 I will keep trying!! The idea was that we would spend day at magic kingdom then Ohana for food and a rest and then back to see the fireworks so really dont want to eat any later than 6pm plus 2 children in our little group:goodvibes!!

Kona would work just as well for that schedule if you want a backup. Keep looking for 'Ohana. 'Ohana before 8 PM is harder to get than Le Cellier now.

9:25 at Ohana is a disaster! I wouldn't take that if you paid me. The are notoriously behind and you probably won't get seated until at least 9:45. There is no meal that is THAT good. (And I love me some ohana!)

I'd keep checking back and see what you can get. As unfair as it is many people (especially when it first opens to their dates) book multiple ADR's until they can figure out what exactly to do with them. Once they shuffle them around they do seem to cancel them. So keep an eye out a couple times a day and I bet you'll catch one!

I agree with everyone...and you sound like me a few weeks ago. Just keep trying at all hours of the day. I was able to book mine for June just a week or so ago after a few weeks of trying. People are always changing reservations (especially 45 days out) so keep your eyes open and grab what you can. You can always cancel and rebook if needed.
I see there is a 9:25p (for 4 at least) open on your date. Maybe take that to start with, and keep looking??
Good luck to you!! pixiedust:

I was just about to book a 5:10 at 'Ohana on 9/3. There was also a 6:45 available but I know there is always a wait there so I took the earlier time. I wasn't able to get this a week or so ago. Do definitely keep trying for your date. Times open up.

I admit with all the talk on the Dis how hard it is to get this, I didn't have much hope when DH said he wanted to eat there. So there is hope ... keep trying!

I had trouble booking Ohana for 9/29 dinner. Wanted 6:30pm, only thing available all night was 8:05pm so I grabbed it up.

That's right. Ohana is one of the most difficult to get especially near the wishes time. Anyways, it always comes near the vacations since people book multiple adrs and cancel so don't stop trying.;)

Just keep trying one will pop up. It doesn't suprise me that they were gone so quickly because people double book ressies online all the time. Usually closer to the day people release them so just keep checking something will open up :thumbsup2

Not all tables are released at the 180 day mark. You will get someting but you will need to keep checking.

So far I have been able to get every place that I want and I never book more than about 60-70 days in advance. It just takes patience and persistance. The online system has made it a ton easier to check many times per day until you find what you want.

We took our first trip to the Poly in Aug 2009. Of course we wanted to try 'Ohana based on what we heard and read. We wanted a 7:00pm reservation, but the best we could do is snag an 8:45 reservation. Every day I would check to see if there was an early reservation and I eventually grabbed a 7:45pm. We wound up showing up around early...around 7:00pm, and we were seated by 7:15pm.

Fast forward to our impending trip for this August, the best reservation I could snag was 8:30pm. I will keep trying to get an earlier slot, and even if I can't we will show up at 7:15-7:30 and try to get in early.

Hi All:goodvibes

Just a quick update!
I tried the following week which reached its 180 day mark today and I managed to get 7.10pm:cool1: Really excited!! I will do what you have suggested and arrive earlier and try to get seated - and if not possible will just enjoy looking round the Poly (never been in there before!):yay:

thanks for all your advice:hug:

Great to hear you got something that was a more reasonable time for you.

Keep checking to get closer to your ideal time.....I'm sure you will find something.
