Really cool 50th birthday present

We went to a friend's 50th b-day party last night. Had a blast. It was a surprise, guest sort of knew, HOWEVER, she thorught it would have been tonight, not last night.

Anywooo...thought I would share one of the coolest gifts. One person bought 5 GC's, $10 each and related it to the decades. I.e. a $10 itunes for the disco era, a $10 gas gc for the "learning how to drive" era, there was one that was totally hilarious - but it was definitley a private joke between the gift giver and the recipient.

Again - just sharing the concept - since sometimes it is hard to come up with ideas on your own.

That is a great Idea I have a good friend turning 50. I'm curious tho did they include a card explaining the theme or was each gift card attached to a card telling why? I'm trying to figure out how they let the person know what was going on and the decade idea because it is really neat!



I don't usually spend 50 on my friend (low finances not that she isn't worth it!)
so I was thinking you could do the same with an actual gift for each decade, some then being less than 10, but would have to explain it.

The gift giver had a 50th card, and put all the gift cards on the inside-on the left side of the card, where the card is blank. All GC's were taped on, and an expalanation of each decade's card was typed out and then placed on tape.

That's such a great idea - I wish I had known about it before my brothers 50th earlier this year, in the end I did a photobook starting when he was a baby and going up to now.

What a great idea! Thanks for sharing that.. If I hadn't already finished my Christmas shopping, that would have been a good idea for my Dson-in-law for Christmas.. I'm going to have to try to remember this for next year..
