Really concerned about the cleanliness of RPR rooms

I will be staying at RPR from May 29, and I have been passing time by reading reviews of RPR on tripadvisor.

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_...ews_Royal_Pacific_Resort-Orlando_Florida.html

A LOT of people posting reviews are saying that rooms are dirty, with bedbugs and fleas, and with wet patches on the floor from where pets have recently relieved themselves.

How do I know if my room has had pets in it before I check in?

Last year I never noticed any problems at all with RPR, so maybe I am just unnecessarily scaring myself now, but it does concern me that RPR has a reputation of being unclean.

Is there a special pet wing? Or a sequence of rooms where pets are allowed/not allowed?

And where is the Dog Walk area, I never encountered that on my last visit. I presume its the other side of the waterway behind the biplane?

All I can tell you is I cannot count the number of times I've stayed at RPR and not once have I ever had any kind of bad experience with cleanliness.

Trip advisor has nasty reports from even the highest rated hotels. We've stayed at RPR tons of times and never had an issue. There is a floor for pets in each Loews hotel. If you don't want to be near there, simply let the hotel know. The dog walk area is behind Tower 3 and the dog floor is the bottom level in Tower 3. Unless you have a dog, you would have no reason to go there.

If you are concerned, read the trip reports about the Disney deluxes. They are just as scary, lol.

As I have booked with a travel operator, how would I contact UOR or Loews? Would they even have my reservation details on system 3 weeks in advance?

You can fax or email them about a week before you go to let them know you don't want to be near the pet floor. You should have a confirmation number of some sort.

We have stayed at RPR a lot also and have never had a problem with anything like that. The first time before we stayed there we searched the web and found a lot of positive and negative reviews. We were feeling the same way because you want everything to be just right. Don't worry, you will be fine and just call the hotel directly and they will put a note that you cannot be in a pet friendly room.:thumbsup2

Oh, BTW: See you there!

Damo is it not Tower 2?

we have stayed the last 6 years , and never had any issues with the resort, and more than 1 night.

We've stayed many times and a couple of times with our dogs. We've never had those kinds of problems, even IN the pet rooms. Although, I do prefer the non-pet rooms because of their location.

I could very well have my towers mixed up, lol. I never have requested to stay away or stay on the doggy floor. A little bit of research shows that it is indeed Tower 2. Sorry about that.

I just read the post on trip advisor about the person complaining that the dog park has fleas and that their dog got them. I would strongly advise that anyone bringing their pet to Florida, even in the cooler months, have their pet on a flea program and bring along their own waste disposal bags.

Had me going there a bit Damo, thought they had changed towers, as i love staying in tower 3:thumbsup2

I have stayed at RPR...beautiful hotel...nice, clean room. NO problem at all.

Just there a few weeks ago, and stayed in tower 3. Didn't hear, see or smell any pets.

Our room was very clean!

I just stayed at RPR recently. They stuck us on the bottom floor of the pet wing. The room was clean. No complaints there. The wireless Internet didn't work though which was really annoying. I spend a couple of hours on the phone with their support service but they couldn't make it work.

If you don't want to be near pets I would suggest adding a note to your reservation saying that you are allergic to cats and dogs (because those are the most common types of pets) so hopefully they won't stick you in the pet wing. I think that's what I'll do next time.

Last year, although my room overlooked a freeway in the distance, I was in the tower where you just turn left out of the elevator on the ground floor and you are virtually in the pool area. Was that tower 2?

Sounds like tower 3.:thumbsup2

Yes sounds like tower 3, but then again could depend on which side of the elevastor you where in the one opposite you would turn right :confused3 :rotfl:

With regards to cleanliness, we have never had any issues with anything like that at RPR.

Our rooms have always been immaculately clean and I would notice if it wasn`t.

All public areas are also immaculate :thumbsup2
