Really Bummed!!!

I called this morning at like 9:05 exactly at my 7 month mark for a 2br AKL (wanted SV, but would have taken anything) for 2 nights Dec 9 to 11. And NOTHING! They had the 10th available but Thursday the 9th was sold out everywhere. The only 2br they had were at OKW and SSR. I booked two studios, one SV and one standard (didnt even have 2 SV available). So, we waitlisted for a 2br. I thought that there would have been something available. Now someone needs to cancel or Disney needs to dedicate more rooms!

From what I'm learning from the DIS, the first 10 days of Dec are the busiest time of the year for DVC. With the lowest daily prices you have to hope. Studio's at most popular DVC resorts go first. Again lowest cost.

Best of luck on the wait list. You might here something after the 11th.

Wow! I wonder if those first two weeks in December will reallocated to a higher point cost time.

I hope the waitlist comes through for you.

Maybe early December isn't the time for you or anyone to try to stay at other resorts than your home ones. So far, I've kept my changing resorts to less used DVC times and I do book the December trips (one during the second week and one over NYE time) at 11 months.

We got a THV at exactly 7 months, I thought that was lucky, but it was only one night... We have a 4 night cruise and then 2 days at WDW... thought I would have luck, because when I called on Tuesday, they had availability at Jambo and Kidani both.

The MS person that I talked to today said that there were no 2 br, and plenty of studios, but there were no 1 br available, so that is what was making getting a 2 br lockoff so tough too!

We too had a hard time getting our home resort (it was at 10 months) and actually changed our dates to arrive on the 12/11 instead of 12/8. We then had friends agree to join us and could not get a 2bdrm at BLT even for the later dates. After a few calls and we were able to get the 2 bdrm BLT for 5 nights.(had it WL but kept calling back) I am glad I did not keep the 1 bdrm at BLT with the intentions of trying for a 2 bdrm at AKV at 7 months, which is what I really wanted to do.

we added MIL and FIL to the trip and FIL is really set on AKL as he is not a park person at all... he will probably just wander the resort and animal watch from the balcony. If we cant get a 2br in the next 7 months (which I think we will), this is still fine...

If a 2BR at BCV opens up, there will be a 2BR SV at AKV available... But we WL for 12/4 - 12/11. We need the whole week...

Im just gonna hold out hope that Disney dedicates more units into inventory OR I will just add on 50 AKL points if my guide can get me a reservation that I want...

It's hard to say. I think DVC may project future sales when they declare rooms into inventory. There is a clause in the contract that allows them to that. So they may have already projected for December.
