Really bummed out....

Jockaroo,

Sorry to hear about your pets.

DebbieB,

Now that is a good point! I am torn on that one.
I really enjoy talking politics, but I know it doesn't usually turn out well over this media :-)

I know this may seem silly coming from me since I live next door to WDW, but why not use the time to create an incredible plan for your next trip. You don't even have to really do it...just put together what you would do if finances weren't an option. Develop a scrapbook to fill in with pictures when you do visit. Create a journal of what you think it will be like to do all of the great things at WDW...update it with reality when you finally visit. The differences should make for interesting reading. Start your own un-official guide to WDW. Research and write a guide from your perspective.

There are many things you can do to feel a part of the magic even if your are many miles away. :goodvibes

Wow, you ain't logged in since August coz ya can't go to WDW?

I kinda see loggin' on to the DIS as a way to be at Disney when ya can't be there.
I like to read the Resorts 'n Parks 'n other various threads.
I guess it all depends on how ya look at it. ;)

I hope ya feel better soon.

I'm the same way...coming here makes me smile!!
This is the longest I've been without going... the first year (2008) I'm missing.. I went in August of 07 (but was pregnant, so didnt' get to ride ANY of my fave rides)... and we aren't going back til May of 09....but the DIS helps make the time go by easier :)

I went to Disneyland every year from 1965 to 1984. I then did not make it back again until 2006 a 22 year hiatus. I was ok with it as other things were more important. I have been a lot in the last couple of years, but that will end again too.

Jockaroo,

Sorry to hear about your pets.

Thank you. It was my little girl Scottie. She was sick for a year. It has been very hard, but I take comfort that she is no longer in pain. Some people might not understand, but it was so easy to give up vacations to provide for her needs. I really loved her.

Feralpeg,
Those are some great ideas. Making lemonade out of lemons.

MasterMason,
I have a similar experience with a hiatus in the 90's until 2003. There was a lot going on in the 90's (Finishing college, getting married, buying a house). I guess once I went back in 03', I contracted the "bug" again.

Jockaroo,
So sad. But you are right about her not being in anymore pain. We have fish at our house. I didn't want the fish to begin with, but I am the person who spends 45 minutes each night for weeks at a time feeding them mashed frozen peas to nurse back from sickness/swim bladder issues, etc. It's a no brainer, you just do it. :)
