Really bummed obsessive compulsive planner - need input!!

Ok - we went last year during fall break - the 15-19th of October - and it was absolutely wonderful. I just found out that fall break next year is the 8th-12th. I am looking for input for those that went around the gay days/columbus day time period this year. We could probably arrive the 8th (Monday, Columbus day) and miss gay days - and then stay Tues, Wed, Thurs and then leave the morning of the 12th (Fri) Just looking for some feedback - I know many of you went during this time this year - and I would really appreciate your opinions!!! I am really scared about Columbus day...

Not many businesses and schools are closed for Columbus day... kind of a frowned upon holiday these days... I wouldn't worry about it. Veteran's Day is a different story, busy, busy! I don't think Gay Days adds a significant number of people to the parks, so I wouldn't plan around those days either.

I don't know about the crowds but a plus would be getting the gay day rates at the Disney Hotels. The rates are good from Oct 2nd-19th, DLH $169 per night and GC $209 per night.
