Really bad meal times for Candlelight Processional

The Candlelight Processional Dinning Packages will begin to book on August 15, 2006.

One of the most beloved Epcot holiday traditions is the Candlelight Processional – a joyous retelling of the (Biblical) Christmas story by a celebrity narrator accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a glorious mass choir.

Although there is no additional admission charge for the performance, Guests can purchase a Candlelight Dining Package and be assured of reserved seating for the show along with an enjoyable dinner at one of Epcot's renowned restaurants before the performance.

This is a credit card guaranteed event and a credit card is required at time of booking. The Guest will pay for the meal in full at the Restaurant where they will receive their seating name badges. Guest will NO LONGER need to pick up their package voucher/badge in advance, they just go to their restaurant and enjoy their meal before the show. Note, the show takes place rain or shine and less than one-sixth of theater seats are under cover so not all Dining Show Package seats will be under cover.

I am so bummed about this! What a huge change! We used to go to the middle CP and then eat at R&C at 8:15 pm so we could stay and watch Illuminations. It always worked perfectly and we look forward to this amazing holiday combo all year long.

I wonder if now the later dining options will sell out fast this year?

I'm guessing that most will be trying to book the latest dining option possible (i.e., the 5:00-6:00 window).

I'm not going to this but maybe you could look at the first eating time as a late lunch andmaybe have a light dinner later on...

That's what I was thinking. A little flexibility goes a long way (and helps lower the blood pressure). Like they tell teachers "modify and adjust".

Has anyone asked why the crazy change in times? Sounds like they want to keep their regular dining open during the holidays. :surfweb: :badpc:

When you add gratituty this doesn't sound like such a great deal anymore. I may just wait in the regular line..... :guilty:

I think that the 180 day window and the dining plan are the reason for this. And CP is very popular and so they'll try to fill up all of those lunch slots.

:confused3 The price for the shows are so much more expensive.....when you NOW ADD add tax and gratituty( especially the tier three restaurants for the later performances) ...WOW!!!!! :confused3

My big question is, with the extremely limited meal times, are they going to have a 'Candlelight Processional' meal? I mean, a limited menu of what you can get in that time?

It just seems odd to me. Ah, well.

I agree that it is too expensive now and will just wait in the regular line. We did it for Fantasmic and got awesome seats! (Went in line about 1 hour before show and kids did fine). Already have our ADR at 5:30 at Garden Grill on 12/17 and that will give us plenty of time to walk over and stand in line for the 8:15 CP with Kirk Cameron!! :goodvibes

We have reservations already for Le Celler for 7:15. I am thinking about just keeping that adr and going to the 5:00 show without the package. We would be going on 11/28/06.

They really ruined a good thing. I am really shocked that you now have to pay the tax and gratuity. This will cost SO MUCH MORE :badpc: :badpc: than last year:(
