Really Bad Commercials - any opinions?

The latest ones that drive me crazy are the Microsoft Office commercials. Man, those are stupid!

I also hate every Subway ad on TV and radio. And Jarod needs to find a new job that does not involve commercials. IMHO, he's been there for way too long and has outworn his welcome.

The identity theft ones crack me up the first couple times I've seen them, but they become annoying really quickly.

The ones for some kind of gum (Orbitz?). The ads always end with the same lady saying, “No matter what!” She just annoys me.

There’s also a Preparation H commercial with Santa that bothers me. I just don’t like the idea.

THE FEAR FACTOR COMMERCIALS! I hate them. They are disgusting. And they show stuff that's on the show...I don't watch the show for a reason. I really don't wanna hear about the bugs they're gonna eat, or whatever. Disgusting.

After seeing a couple of them tonight, I have to add the Arby's Oven Mitt commercials. I really don't like them.

A friend of mine's little girl started screaming with fear the first time she saw the oven mitt on TV (she was about 1.5 years at the time). Eventually my friend was able to convince her that the oven mitt would not come out of the TV, but she still looks suspiciously at the TV when she sees it.

I think they are still using this, the Donatos "Respect the Pizza" commercials. Those were particularly hated in my household. It made me think ill of them and Donatos is way to expensive anyway.

ITA that oven mitt is creepy. I remember having a nightmare when I was about 3-4 years old about the hamburger helper hand coming out of my couch and attacking me. Don't really care for talking hands or mitts ever since .

I also second the picture phone one with the "new boyfriend" with the food hanging out of his mouth. I have to turn my head when it comes on because it turns my stomach.

There's a new one, I've only seen a couple of times. I'm not even sure what it's for - High-speed internet, I believe. A guy on a sidewalk, yelling at people, something about slow not being an option anymore? I found it very unsettling.

This is really more of a bad slogan thing, but Badcock Furniture used to use the slogan, "Come home to Badcock." DH and I cringed and giggled every time. Now, they've changed it to, "Badcock makes it easy." Not quite as bad, but we're still cringing and giggling. They really can't win with that name.

I agree with the other commercials mentioned so far, but here's my pet peeve at teh moment. Its a Rum and Cola commercial, can't remeber the name of the Rum, but these comercials are disgusting, and possibly somewhat racist. Rum is a white guy and Cola is a black guy. They are after women and find no shortage of them. The girls all wind up with wet shirts or some other sexual connotation. The commercials are just that bad. If i remeber the name of the Rum I'll post it.

I'm tired of the McCain Smiles commercial. It shows kids playing and a bucket of smiles fries. The song playing is "when you're smiling" but it's sung in a sad way. Not only has the commercial been on for months but the song makes me want to cry not smile.

There is a commercial with a man and woman dressed very elegantly (black tie and evening gown). I'm trying to remember details but I think one is holding champagne? Then you see the commercial is for tires? The commercial makes NO sense and irritates me whenever I see it.

The other commercials that irritate me are daytime commercials that are shown during the talk shows & judge shows. My husband LOVES "Texas Justice" and the commercials for that show are:

Need Cash? Check into check into cash
Injury attorneys
Phone cut off? Call us!
Haven't paid your taxes? Call Us!
Bad Credit & need to go bankrupt? Call Us!

Then there is the attorney commercial with Robert Vaughn saying "Tell those insurance companies YOU MEAN BUSINESS...call Keller & Keller *dramatic pause* RIGHT NOW!" When my daughter was younger she would get a very stern look on her face and point to us saying "YOU MEAN BIDNESS". LOL

ANYTHING Mentos is stupid.

Here in Orlando, we have two HORRIBLE, GOOFY, LAME commercials that they have ACTUALLY turned into half hour tv shows on a few stations...for Family Auto Mart and Appliance Direct. FAM features a fat guy screaming "We're wheelin' annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd dealin!" while he's trying to do a cart wheel. Other commericals featuring him have him as a "Mexican bandito" complete with stick on facial hair, and a badly blue screened one where he has this tiny football helmet on, "running" across a football field.

The Appliance Direct commercials has this annoying woman in a green dress and a knee brace constantly screaming, "See it all and save!" They actually made fun of her at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights this year at the Bill and Ted show.

The Arby's commercials bother me because my boyfriend made a gross joke about the food "coming out of the oven" because the food tasted "like crap". I can't watch the commercials when the oven mitt says ANYTHING about anything coming out of the over...all I can think of is a toilet.

I also didn't like the Edy's Ice Cream commercials with the baby dancing when his mom said she got Edy's. Sigh.

Even my 7yo son says (in his most sarcastic voice) "yeeesss, I'm so stupid I can't even think of one thing to do with 5 kids for a night, I HAVE to have TV!

Done with the dish? Geesh, I'm done with Comcast...

(ok, I have comcast...but only because it's the only high speed internet in our area...)

And then there is the Sopranos comcast commercial, and the "tree of shame" comcast commercial...

They are all a running joke in our house...

I cannot stand any of those bad lawyer ads, either!

I just saw one that made me sick, the 1-800-SAFE AUTO commercial where a girl turns on the jukebox and starts a provocative dance. What the HECK does that have to do with insurance?????

Ooh! You just reminded me of a horrible commercial we saw in Kentucky while driving from MN to FL. It was a commercial for a lawyer, with people saying, "Here's my wreck, and here's my check!" At the end of the commercial, in that quick disclaimer talk, the voiceover would say, "Not an actual client, not an actual check." Every once and a while, DH will bring this up and laugh about it. It's a running joke with us.

Oooh, i just remembered! Those commercials for cold medicine and one day sales (odd combo, but they have the same theme). The mom is sick or out of the house and *GASP* the dad actually has to take care of the kids! And of course, he can't be bothered to dress them or feed them appropriately. Does this ad really reflect what many households are like? The dads I know are capable (and intereact with their children even if the mom IS around) of taking care of the kids. It drives me bananas to see these ads!

The local (Lafayette, IN) ads that are so bad they're good: A lawyer commercial that goes "medical alert. medical alert" In a complete monotone, non-alert type voice. We find that one hilarious and make each other laugh by trying to imitate the voice.

"Check into cash..." Then they make a gaint check mark in the air....

ACK.. SO STUPID!!!! Yes I want to go and cash my check so I can pay them back at an absurd interest rate! How smart is that?? About as smart as that dang commercial. Makes my skin crawl.. the people are all standing at a checkout and EVERYBODY knows about it....

We also saw the Family Auto Mart commercials when we were in Orlando. They are pretty stupid, but DH thinks they are hilarious. They have a website in case anyone is interested.

I agree with the other poster about the Herbal Essences commercials. I think they are disgusting and embarrassing.
