Really....another AP increase this winter?

Well I have gone from budgeting for an 8 day hopper to a Deluxe AP....and now there is the possibility of another price increase for an AP this winter:faint: Do you think the increase will be a big one if it happens? I know that Al Lutz is a touchy point with some people on this board, but I am just trying to prepare myself for the worst...

I honestly couldn't tell you. There is no way I would have anticipated that the AP price increase earlier this year was going to be so dramatic, so I don't even like hypothesizing at this point!

Take whatever you thought would be on the high side and double it!

Just kidding, but really, I was shocked at the last AP price hike. With such great attendance numbers, Disney may feel completely justified in its decision and may feel they can adjust much higher. Or they could do a minor price hike with another big jump in summer next year.

Al Lutz is actually not the only one or even necessarily the first one to be circulating this rumor on the internet. David Koenig on MousePlanet made a reference to a possible winter price increase back in July.

This to me seems most likely, minor followed by major. They actually did something like this a few years back with a January bump and then a bigger increase in August of the same year. I think a lot of people were shocked by the price increase; your doubling comment is about how I felt about the increase on premium APs.

Totally agree about the price increase on premium APs. I was thinking a $75-ish to MAYBE $100 bump, not $150!

But you can't fault their logic, attendance is through the roof. If they hadn't increased, I wonder how much more crowded it would have been in Carsland!

No kidding!

We live in Seattle, bought premium AP's last year, and have traveled to DLR three times to make good use of our passes. Each time we stay about two weeks.

With the huge FP price hikes recently, that will be it for us. Kind of a matter of principal. I don't mind a yearly increase, but 30 percent is ridiculous.

Besides, there are so many other places we want to travel to, like Europe and Australia and yes I know these trips won't be cheap either.

But it just seems that Disney is taking such advantage of folks by raising their prices so dramatically.

So we'll enjoy our next visit next month and move on to other places next year. Disney has the right to raise prices as much as they want to. I have the right to make the choice to stop spending my money there.

I'm not sure they can control the crowds any other way than raising prices. If I were them I woudl bump the annual pass prices another 100.

Yep, I'm wondering how crazy the hike will be too ... and whether or not we'll be able to get a voucher to activate in December 2013. I'm planning on going Dec 2013, then November 2012, and maybe a few weekends in between, but this last hike was so high I'm letting my current Deluxe AP expire at the end of the month and not going to get another one for 14 months, much as I love the ability to go to Disneyland whenever I'm in SoCal (which has been 4 trips this year, one 10 days, the others were all extended weekends).

I think they're approaching my ceiling on what I'm willing to pay for tickets/APs ... I may have to rent out my VGC points and pick up a Florida DVC contract instead if these hikes continue. I justify going to DLR by the cheaper airfare prices, but if the ticket price difference is outweighs the airfare difference, we'll just go to DisneyWorld instead, though I would prefer to stay on the West Coast at "my" park.

If I were them I would drop the price $100 for AP's for out of staters and raise it $100 for everyone within 6 hours driving distance. !!!! :rolleyes1:duck:
