Got back on Wed. night from 10 wonderful days at OKW and oh, how I wish we were still there!.....
Old Key West is all that and then some. It was the most relaxing, laid back time we have ever had at Disneyworld. I absolutely loved it. We stayed in a 2 bedroom # 3510 just across the street from the Turtle Pond bus stop and pool. I really liked being on the first floor. We made our reservations at only 2 months out so I only requested non-smoking and let OKW staff handle the rest. We had a small pond out our window and some lovely weeping trees of some sort. It was clean, quiet, and yes, parking right outside the room is a real perk that we were very thankful for. We tried the busses once and then just used the car exclusively because it was so unbelievably easy. I never fought for a pool chair and at one point on Mon. morning, was one of only 2 people in the Turtle Pond pool. And this, during 4th of July week!
It was hot but not unbearable and crowds were manageable. We spent an entire day at MGM last Sunday because the crowds were so light and the weather was gorgeous.
I will definitely spend many a vacation at Old Key West in the future. It was a real delight.

Ah-h-h-h-h-h-h......... what a lovely picture you paint. We have to wait 3 1/2 months, but then hope to be relaxing at Turtle Pond Pool also. Glad you have such a great trip! OKW is very therapeutic.

Sounds like you had a fabulous trip!! Oh the agony of waiting until the next trip home :)

Thanks for checking in with a trip report...even if it makes some of us very homesick. ;)

thanks for the trip report. I was at OKW 3 weeks ago for a long weekend and I can't wait for my return trip in a couple of weeks!

We were in building 39, and it was lovely. We didn't request anything but a non-smoking 2 bedroom unit for this next trip.
