realistic time to allow for park hopping?

We plan on park hopping from Epcot to Animal Kingdom. We would like to be able to get into AK asap. What time should we head for the bus to transfer to AK from Epcot? Where is it located? We will be staying at Boardwalk-would it be faster to return to Boardwalk and then transfer to AK?

It depends on where you are in Epcot as to what would be closer for picking up an AK bus. If you are in Future World (are we still calling it that?) then exiting the main entrance and walking to the bus depot will be quicker. If you're in the World Showcase, then exit through the International Gateway and walk to BC, not BWI, to grab an AK.

But the quickest way would be to get an Uber or Lyft from either BC or the Epcot parking lot, depending on where you are in Epcot when you decide to exit.

I think you'll need to decide where in the park you'll be at the time you'd like to head over to AK. If you're closer to the front of EP, then the park to park bus could make sense. If you're closer to the International Gateway, then BW to AK could make more sense.

It’s been awhile (pre-pandemic) since we park hopped, but we found it would take 40-60 minutes in general to park hop. BTW, we were usually hopping to MK. We once did a test where DS and I took the Monorail from MK to EP and DH drove the car over. We got to the meeting point within minutes of each other.

Park hopping starts at 2 pm. They might let you in 10min early so probably want to be waiting for bus either at Epcot or beach club around 130 ish.
