realistic drive time from Tampa airport to Sarasota?

I did mapquest, and distance is about 42 miles, but looking for REAL info, had to cancel flights, and have a credit on SW, now scrambling to get filghts to take DD to school in 2 weeks. I have a flight into TPA, but before I schedule a return out of there, really need to know how much time to allow to make the drive back.
I would fly out of SRQ (Sarasota) but SW does not service there...AirTran does but I just ate $225 in fees from them, and their flights are at 200 one way...so OUCH!

I live in the area and Mapquest is about right. I'd give myself an hour to be on the safe side, maybe even a little more if it's rush hour.

Thanks, I know I have Ft Myers as an option as well, but I only have a quick weekend to move her in and with having to be at the airport early, time for travel..need every minute.

InLaws are in Bradenton and from the TPA airport it took us about 50 minutes to their door - Now, I did not experience it but my MIL stated that if that bridge the really steep one (scariest bridge on the planet but that is another thread) if that bridge is closed due to wind then it can take much longer. Not sure how often the bridge actually gets closed.

BTW - Hi Pam - she's off for her 2nd year DS is headed to his new digs on 8/19/09 and is super excited. He is also excited about starting school again now that he knows he can do it!
