Real Potato?

I love mashed potatoes but HATE the powdered variety. Does anyone know if the CS potatoes are real? I am thinking Sunshine Seasons and Cosmic Rays in particular but if you know of any other fakes I would appreciate the warning. We are also going to some TS (buffets) which should have mashed. Am I safe to assume they will be real? Thanks.

With the sheer volume of food that Disney prepares it never crossed my mind the the mashed would be "real". I always thought they would be instant.

ugh I really hope they're not instant? they just skeeve me out. I haven't actually had mashed potatoes at any CS but was thinking about having some bbq and stuff this trip coming up. it's not THAT hard to make huge batches of the real thing so hopefully they do!

My mom and I had this same discussion 2 weeks ago while standing in line at Cosmic Rays. After subbing fries, then seeing the mashed potatoes up close, we are pretty sure they were the real deal and were sad we did not get them.

We were at Disney May 10-15 of this year. My DS ordered the kids meal at Sunshine Seasons that had a chicken leg and mashed potatos. If I recall correctly they are red-skinned mashed, with the peel still on and chunks of potato. They were more like "smashed potatos" rather than smooth-type mashed potatos. It tasted them and thought they were really good.

Oh, I really hope they are real. I always make DH get mashed if we are somewhere new so I don't 'waste' my side of fake potatoes. He can't tell the difference.

Cosmic Ray's are real- just had them Tuesday 5/26...have the flakes of red skin, even a few small un-mashed chunks (just like Momma used to make,lol) Very tasty...can't say for sure about S Seasons because we had Asian there, but seems to me that every place we ate w/mashed taters.they were the real deal
