I have no idea why I do this...but I just checked the Rent/Trade board and saw 3,500 points to rent for $9 or best offer!

The poster has 11 posts, although I was only able to find 5...all of which, not surprisingly, pertained to renting points.

I hope this is legit...

maybe you can find out who he rented to and get feedback from the people on the earlier posts.Seems like an awful lot of points to have. Be careful.

I'm not renting...just observing!

I'm hoping typo versus scam.

Okay, I'll admit it, I offerred to buy all the points for $7.50, but got no reply (geeze I wonder like why, dude?)

But I haven't seen a single reply from the OP, nor anyone thanking the OP for a sucessfull rental.

So, I was left with scammer-jammer, or typo, and only 350 points for rent.

As Spock might say, "Fascinating Captain, Fascinating!"

I sent a pm to the renting party because I was looking for 86 points. I never got an answer though. I think someone offered to rent them all. I think that person will just turn around and rent them for more.

I saw that post also and was very curious about it. I thought maybe it was a typo, but nothing has been corrected. I can't imagine anyone having 3500 points. I just hope it is legit and not a scam.

Were they renting them or selling them? I am confused but then I have had a hard day over on the Resorts board. :rotfl:

Goes to show I show never leave "home" aka the DVC forums. :thumbsup2

I had sent a PM to that person because I was looking for Vero Beach points to use for December. They replied and said they were all gone. As far as 3500 points, yes it is alot but they must really love DVC. As long as I don't have to pay the bill. :)

I was wondering about this, too. If I remember right, DVC has a cap of 2000 points for a single ownership. At least, that's what they told me when I purchased my interest in BWV in '99. The whole idea was to prevent people from staying year-round continuously. That's my two cents.

I think it is a 2000 point cap per DVC resort, so you could have 14000 points if you have a little extra cash sitting around

Could be a business/corporation that bought them for employee incentives, etc. that needs to rent what they didn't use (or might just need the cash).

I believe it is 2,000 points maximum at any one resort, and an aggregate total of 5,000 points per entity.

You are correct, sir! (Hiyo) But I wonder if there's a limit to one-time transfers. Could one owner transfer 1000 from each of 10 different people into one account? Hmmmmm.........

(HiYo) I can not reveal my sources, but you can have more than 2,000 points in a single resort via transferring. Back to you Dr. T!

No limit on number of points transferred. The 2000/5000 is per person so a couple could double that.

By the way GB, if you should ever happen to run into that cap and need a name to put some points under, well you just let me know. ;)

I think Tony may actually be pushing those limits now. Therefore I am pleased to offer my account as a "storage accommodation" for his extra points. I like to think of it as lateral banking. :)

I was just thinking of the samething. We would be able to tell if some of those points were not offered for transfer. Their was a standard guide of how many transfer outs or in years ago. Since then DVC has changed that rule. Like Dean posted.
