As you guys are so helpful i was wondering if you could help me...

I want a bouquet of red roses to match my dress, but i can't decide whether to have real flowers or fake. Has anyone had a fake rose bouquet and how 'real' does it look? The nice thing about having a fake bouquet is that i can take it home with me when the day is over, but then again sometimes fake flowers don't look or smell as nice as a real bouquet. Ohh the dilemma. Lol

Your advice would be greatly appreciated. What did you do? x :flower3:

we are going for silk flowers and all the flowers in francks are silk and i thought they looked pretty good. df has hayfever so it works for us and i get to use them at the mk shoot and our at home blessing

As much as I love real flowers i found it wasn't worth the money.
Not the mention my all rose bouquet felt like it weight 30lbs!
Lol not really but it was heavy. Real is real expensive and if I did it again I would spend the money else where. Go with silk.

... And here's where I ended up getting my fake bouquet:

I think their stuff looks pretty dang good for the price, though you may want to add a few of your own fake flowers for a really full look...

Disney did our and we had all silks. I wanted to be able to put them in the curio with our wedding momentos and have them look just as beautiful as the day we said "I do."

I'm going to go with real for mine simply because there is a boquet in the escape wishbook that works absolutly perfectly for me (I think, though I do like the idea of being able to keep the silk ones forever). However, my girls are getting fake. I am making them myself from Michael's, and I think that they will look fine. Also, I figured out that I will be saving over $500 between the three of them!

I'm sure that whatever you choose will be great!

I wanted to go with michaels as well... but since this would be a destination wedding Im afraid of having to send the fake bo-ks over...

do you know if francks is expensive? I only want 5 gerber daisys for each of my bridesmaids tyia

Hiya

I'm taking silk flowers over with me from the UK. I did try and find some on the internet but was worried about the quality of the silk flowers. Some times they don't look real and that's not what I wanted.

I ended up going to a local florist and managed to decide on a style of bouquet. She was so helpful and asked me to come back at the end of the week and she would get some samples for me. When I got back she had done a trial bouquet and it was stunning. The flowers looked real and she had it on display. She said that when people came in they couldn't believe that they were silk. She's also spraying them with a scent so that they will smell like fresh flowers, she's also adding swarkovski crystals through it.

I couldn't justify spending so much on a fresh bouquet even though they are stunning. I'm glad I have the silk flowers cause I'm using them for our wedding day, MK shoot 2 days later and my at home reception. For £45 I'm definitely getting my money's worth.

Here's a piccie hopefully it'll work.

Thanks guys,

I'm having an Escape wedding, but was going to ask about having the silk flowers. Would Disney be able to provide me with silk rose pictures do you think? Has anyone got an email address for Disney floral?

Thanks

Joedi x

Wow, buzz buzz, that bouquet looks amazing!! :goodvibes

Joedi, if you check out PurpleGirl's trip report and Swmhc's posts using the search function, you'll see lots of pics. :thumbsup2

I don't know how they do it now, but when I got married in 2002, I found the silk flowers through Disney Floral to be very reasonable and they were (still are) beautiful!
I worked with Anna...now that was almost 6 years ago-but they were fabulous!~

I LOVE YOUR FLOWERS!! They look so real!! PERFECT!!:flower3:

I know that the bridal bouquets with real flowers are around $300... what's the average price for silk if you get them through Disney floral?

Thank you all for your replies. I took Lurkyloo's advise and looked through some of the wedding reports for other people. I came across Pepples22. She had the exact same wedding dress as me, and she had a silk bouquet. Her colours matched her dress exactly-which i was really worried about. This has made my day.

I'm going to go for the silk bouquet so that i can keep it forever. Do you think that Disney would put the glittery disneys in the silk bouquets? I just love them

Thank you all xx:lovestruc

i have a silk one and its priced at $300 but its going to be 12inches in diameter apparently so its huge!

I don't regret my flowers, but I would have definitely have gone with silks with my bridesmaids had I known... I was disappointed in their bouquets and didn't think they were worth what I had paid for them. My bouquet was an arm and a leg, but it was exactly what I had wanted.

What is your budget like? Would it be financially easier with fake ones? Do you want to preserve your bouquet? Are you planning to toss it after the wedding? It depends on the sentimental value in my opinion...

I had real flowers for my bouquet, but got matching silk bouquets from EBAY. You really couldn't tell that they were silk, and I gave them to my Grans who couldn't attend afterwards.
If you want a picture, let me know and I'll find one.
