Howdy folks,

I'm traveling with the strangest man. I love him dearly, but he has some peculiar habits.

He insists on real maple syrup for his pancakes and waffles. If it's not real, he won't eat them. Strange - I know. :confused3

I carry around small bottle of syrup in my purse. (There's booze in there too, but that's for me.):rotfl: If I can avoid this on my trip, it would lighten my load.

Does WDW use real maple syrup on pancakes and such? We're doing Chef Mickey's and Ohana for breakfasts. Anyone know about these particular places.

You guys are wonderful! :thumbsup2
Thanks,
LaWa

I'm not 100% certain but I really don't think they do use real maple syrup. It would be waaay too expensive!!! Lot's of people are picky about their syrup so it's not really that weird. Funny thing, I am from the Northeast and I prefer Mrs. Butterworth's!!!!

I don't believe that Disney would supply REAL maple syrup. Since you apparently buy it for this strange man, you know how expensive it is.

If I were you, I would not continue to indulge his "strangeness". Let him carry his own maple syrup or he can go without. There are plenty of other things to eat.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Because of allergies I can't have fake maple syrup so I know that some of the sit down places have the real stuff (Kona). I don't know if they will bring it to you for a non allergy request though. You could ask if it is available and if not he can order the eggs.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies! :thumbsup2

I had a feeling that WDW would not have real maple syrup. We don't mind paying for it either when we ask for it.

One of my DH favorite places to eat for breakfast is Cracker Barrel because they always have real maple syrup. :confused3

Guess I'll be schlepping some syrup to Disney!:sad2:

well if you make your first stop Epcot..they sell real maple syrup in Canada!

One thing to be careful of - carry your syrup in a plastic bottle - glass is not allowed in the parks

We only eat REAL maple syrup too! The other stuff is just HFCS - which is terrible for you. Switch over and you will never go back to the fake stuff.

You couldn't PAY me to eat the fake stuff ~~ I would just go without so I don't think that's weird ~~~ but as for real maple syrup at WDW it's not readily available ~ but like another poster mentioned it may be available if you arrange it ahead of time with dining.
Also another good point make sure not to bring glass ~ I've seen it confiscated at Security check before.
Have fun!

I don't think it's crazy at all. I refuse to eat the fake stuff as well. I don't travel with syrup, though, so I just go with whatever alternate toppings I can find. If a place has some kind of fruit topping (strawberries, for example) I'll use that instead of syrup. Sometimes I'll use honey or a butter & sugar topping.

I live within 5 km of two maple syrup farms and have never tried it. It is now on my list for Christmas lol

I can't really give any insight to the question, but I can provide a fun fact!:thumbsup2

I work at a Cracker Barrel, and while ago, we switched to the fake stuff (cane syrup, not HFCS). Apparently, climate change is effecting the sap production in the maple trees in North America, so farmers have had rough growing season for the past few years. As such, the price went waaay up, so alot of places have had to make the switch.

Eh, just FYI.:confused3

I know , it's sad :(
It's kind of the same situation with the bees ~~ enjoy it while you can!

The fake stuff is awful. I may bmob!

I buy maple syrup by the jug. It's cheaper that way.

Me too ~ they have the best maple syrup from Canada here in Publix and it's only 18.00 for a 32 oz. jug ~ way cheaper than other places I used to shop where it was 32.00 a jug!
