Interesting fact

Her DH is the lawyer depicted in Julia Roberts movie-Erin Brockovich

Tom Girardi (born Thomas Vincent Girardi, June 3, 1939) is a founding partner of Girardi & Keese[1] a downtown Los Angeles law firm that has earned a reputation as L.A. County's king of the class action lawsuit.

In 1970, Girardi became the first attorney in the state of California to win a $1 million-plus award for a medical malpractice case.[1] Girardi has handled major cases against the former Lockheed Corp (now the Lockheed Martin Corp.), Pacific Gas & Electric Co, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and Hollywood's seven major movie studios.[1]

In one of his better known cases against Pacific Gas & Electric, the utility company agreed to pay $333 million to 650 residents of the desert community of Hinkley, California.[2] The residents blamed incidents of cancer and other diseases on contaminated water leaked from a gas pumping station.[1] This case was the inspiration for the film Erin Brockovich starring Julia Roberts.

What about Ed Masry? He's the lawyer she worked with on that case. I'd never heard of this Tom Girardi before.

As for his wife......yeah....not sure what to make of her yet lol

I still don't really know how I feel about Erica, I'll have to wait a few more episodes before I can make a judgment about her.

I thought last nights episode was pretty good. I really love seeing the housewives with their kids, I feel like it gives them a totally different vibe. I wonder if Portia ever got her other ear pierced or if she still only has one of her ears. I do think they were acting a little dramatic, but Kyle does acknowledge that her daughters are just that way. I can't get over the whole bear conversation that Lisa had with her kids lol. It's a shame she couldn't go with all of them on vacation.

Uh oh lover's quarrel between Eileen and her husband, I hope it's nothing that serious. I mean I know that couples fight but it just is never a super good sign if they are fighting on television because I feel like it amplifies it.. you can't hide issues on TV. (ie: Kim.. Teresa Giudice..)

I don't see why people are upset with Lisa Rinna questioning Yolanda's health, that is human nature and honestly I do believe there are a lot of questionable things that Yolanda has done and her behavior too. I believe she is sick, but I do not believe she has what she claims she has.

That scene made me sick. There is no reason for those girls to act that way other than poor parenting. :sad2:

And Erica Jane? Someone did not get enough attention as a child. :rolleyes1

How is it poor parenting to be afraid of needles? So I guess if any child is afraid of something its "poor parenting"?

It's poor parenting to tolerate that kind of hysteria. Especially unnecessarily. If you are going to act that foolishly about ear piercing (this wasn't the first time), you're not getting your ears pierced. Simple really.

Eh. If thats the worst thing those kids have done or the only thing they get all hysterical about then I think Kyle has done pretty well.

I have to say that I'm not liking that new woman they put on the show. She is a little to over the top for me. She doesn't seem like the type to go with that older lawyer husband.
Yeah, I don't really enjoy watching her either. It will be interesting to see her interact with Lisa V. next week though.

I'm not sure Ken really wanted two mini horses. I sure wouldn't. Little dogs make little messes. I doubt little horses make little messes!

The Yolanda thing still makes no sense. I hope she finds the answers she's looking for, but when she made that comment about eating bark if someone told her to, it said a lot IMO.

I really enjoy Lisa R. She seems like a down to earth mom. I also like Eileen more this year although she's still a bit boring.

If Ken doesn't want the horses, they can come live with me!!!!

I could understand Portia's reaction to the ear piercing, my young neice still only has one warring because she refused to let them do the other, the older girl was ridiculous. Maybe seeing herself behave that way on tv will show her how silly she looked.
It's one thing for a group of friends to have a conversation (out of concern, not gossipy) about another's health but not when it's for national tv. Its basically publically questioning her and that's a fine line from accusing her of faking. Once it's brought up on tv, it takes on a life of its own so just mentioning it is enough to give it legs.
Those horses are adorable. You can clearly see the difference between them and the other one.

There have been plenty of people publicly questioning Yolanda's issues from the getgo. This isn't going to change the viewers opinions, many people have called her out on it and think something isn't right with all of this. If Yolanda doesn't want to be questioned she probably shouldn't be on television.
I'm pretty sure Sophia (the one who was the older one) knows how ridiculous she looked, some people just react that way to certain things regardless of age. I think she probably reacted more strongly because there were cameras there, and I know that can heighten things sometimes.

according to an article I read-the movie simplified the court procedings-it was much more complicated...here is an excerpt....

By the spring of 1993, Masry had collected 47 clients. The signed retainers specified that he would collect 40 percent of any award. Masry filed a suit, claiming PG&E had discharged toxic wastewater into the area. PG&E responded by saying the complaint didn’t state sufficient facts or other legal grounds to support its claims. But the case moved forward in San Bernardino County Superior Court.

At this point, Masry brought in some big guns: Thomas Girardi of Girardi & Keese in Los Angeles, and Walter Lack of Engstrom, Lipscomb & Lack in Century City. Lack’s firm specializes in insurance bad faith and toxic torts; Girardi is one of the state’s best-connected and most powerful attorneys. The Wilshire Boulevard attorneys had the resources to wage what became a 650-plaintiff case, and they, too, asked clients for 40 percent of any award, plus costs. The plaintiffs agreed. “It was ‘Either play our game or forget about it,'” said resident Nola Wetterman. The plaintiffs played.

The other ladies questioning it is mean.

I'm starting to wonder if you are Kyle. You are always oddly defensive of her.

I'm definitely a crappy parent if it does:) My 12 year old doesn't want her ears pierced and when we went for her check up in August and she needed a shot she had a meltdown. And she is usually unbelievably compliant and mild mannered.

I tend to agree. I believe she may have initially gone on the show to launch Gigi and Bella's careers. Not sure if it helped but clearly they are doing well. But when you put your life out there like this (and get paid for it), you open yourself up to these kind of things.

I agree. There's something not right about Yo. Personally I don't think she's sick. Physically sick. Just a gut feeling. Who knows maybe Brooks ruined it for anyone on a reality show who claims they are sick.
