I bought my 22 month ols CVS crocks for $7.99 just to see if he could walk in them ok. He likes them and does ok walking in them. Are the nam brand crocs much better? I have no problem buying them but do I need to, are they much better?

For me the no name brands tend to rub blisters on my feet. I don't have that problem with the Crocs brand. I know plenty of other people wear them so maybe it's just me?

We have both in our house, our DD has Crocs and the other two have fakes...they didn't care...she's a girl, she cares!:rotfl: Anyway, the boys do end up with blisters if they do a lot of walking and DD does not.

I bought my daughter who is almost 6, 2 pairs from Target and well both of them the straps broke off. Dosent matter because they dont need the straps anyway. She now has 3 pairs of crocs and no problems yet. I love buying shoes

We've had the Target brand and they gave my son's blisters around the inside ankle where the hinge is. I don't know why because they're not tight. And my oldest broke his strap off.
I just bought them Crocs and no blisters.

I on the other hand have Target brand with no blisters.

this is exactly what i was going to write.
also a 22mo wouldnt be doing all that much walking anyway. we always get blister block and cover our feet in it. weve been using it all summer, we are out doors a lot and on our feet alot, we have not had one blister all summer. so just lather his feet in blister block first.

I swear by my crocs, my mom swears by her fake ones. She claims that hers are just as good as the real thing, but she's never had a pair of real ones, so...anyway, I just bought my DS his first pair (they were on sale at West Marine and I had a coupon, so I ended up paying $5 for real crocs that sell for $25) and my mom had the audacity to ask if they were real!!!:scared1: Like I'd buy fake crocs for my little man!!!
Anyway, when I've tried her shoes on, they seem to walk harder- if that makes any sense. She claims that my crocs feel the same as hers when she tries mine on, but I wonder how she'd do after a day in the parks! In the meantime, I'll stick with my real ones, and my DM sticks with her fakers.

bought a few pairs from target. they are ok to walk around the house but I just bought a real pair of crocs they fit better and also have more cushion. I am much happier with the crocs especially for long walks.:thumbsup2

I and my 3 older kids just all got Crocs for the first time this summer. (Mostly due to the rave review I have read onthe dis.) I love mine even though my second toe sticks out of the hole in the front, it's longer than my big toe. It doesn't seem to bother me. DD6 and DS4 love theirs. So far no blisters, but they've only had theirs since Thursday. DS2 will wear his now that I put a Thomas jibitz in them, but I did notice a red spot on his ankle where the hinge is. He doesn't complain about it. He has really wide and thick feet. Finding shoes for him is not easy. I am planning on wearing mine when we go to WDW in Oct. but I think I will brind sneakers for DS2.

From what I've read on other threads here, if you're going to get them, get the real deal.

Thanks for all the respones!:goodvibes Dh wanted me to get real ones because ds was getting red on the sides of his feet. I will keep the cvs for extra, has anyone tried the ones with the fabirc arond the back part, I forget what model they are.

we have both the crocs and the dawgs brand...both are really good! i got the dawgs at tuesday morning a few months ago for $7.99! i have also found crocs at marshalls (disney ones for $14.99) and just regular crocs at the rugged warehouse...so you don't necessarily have to spend $30 to get the crocs brand.

My kids love Crocs, but I have three and I am not spending $90.00 for rubber shoes for the three of them. I get the knock-offs at Payless they are made by Airwalk and the love them just the same, plus Payless does the Bogo sales, which I cannot pass up!! One of my DS has a pair of Mammouth Crocs that he wanted for Christmas, so I did splurge and buy him those.

Well I bought the real ones and they are better than my fake cvs ones. They are softer and ds walks much better in them. Thanks for all the help!:goodvibes

I totally agree. My "real" Crocs are SO much softer and more comfortable. I have the off-road ones with the adjustable strap. I almost didn't buy them after several knock-brands left me very unimpressed, but am so glad I did. My DD did fine in real or fake ones, but my DS, who has a slightly wider foot got blisters in anything but "true" ones.

If buying fakes, look at how the "hinge" is connected and MAKE SURE that the plastic "button" that attaches the straps is recessed into the croc on the inside. If not, that does tend to cut into little feet in time. That's the difference there with real ones.

'Blister Block'?? I've never heard of such a thing- where do you find it?? Thanks very much!

One of my daughters gets blisters from no names and one doesn't. I'm too cheap to buy name brand. :rolleyes1 It may look stupid but the one that gets blisters wears socks with hers.

I have the name-brand, but my dd3 wanted the "Dora" version from Payless. She's never had a problem and we've been through two pairs (two seasons---she grew out of the first pair).

I have two pairs of the Sears brand and two pairs of Gekko's (one is the ballerina style).

I just bought the Gekko's as they were on sale at Liqidation World (Last week) for $2.99. I found they weren't as soft as the Sears brand. I have been trying to break them in for WDW in September and I haven't had any blisters yet.

I had tried on the fakes at Payless shoes and they felt pretty uncomfortable. I can't remember why I decided to try the Crocs after that (probably because they were Mickey). There is no comparison. Crocs are very cushioned and the footbed seems so much more comfortable. I have worn them to Disneyland without socks and in the rain and they were wonderful!! Sometimes it is worth it to spend the extra money. :rotfl:

I did notice a difference right away when I saw a real pair of Crocs. They are much wider than my Gekkos.

I think, but could be wrong that the people who get blisters have wider feet and that makes a difference with the knockoff ones. I have not had a single blister from my fakes! I have been wearing them sockless also.
